    Sparq,
You are not alone. Paying the Piper is not nearly as good as past David Drake books....almost like someone else wrote it.

Oh, forgot about Don Johnson's Bren Ten back when Miami Vice was fresh. Mmmmm, satin nickel frame and blue slide was hot, hot, hot back then!

I've read The tank Lords, Caught in the Crossfire, and The Butcher's Bill out of the Hammer's Slammers series. Also by David Drake, I've read Lt. Leary Commanding, Fortress, and Redliners (Redliners is excellent). I also have The Chosen, which I have yet to read. I've been looking for more of then Slammer's series...

its like a ww2 era gun and the guy made it himself
That's a Bren Gun, I mentioned it earlier. WW2 british support machine gun.

Neos' minigun in the chopper in the matrix. Blains' minigun in predator (although totally impossible). The Masks' array of weapons that he whips out of his pocket if they didn'y shoot flags that say bang. The Joker from the 80's batman had a fat 2 foot long pistol. Bullet tooth tony had a sweet desert eagle from Snatch. Aliens' pulse rifles. Full-auto glocks (matrix 2, broken arrow, faceoff, etc.) Gods' barret .50 cal from Navy SEALs. Erasers' guns were pretty sweet. Nic Cages' gold 9mms or whatever in Faceoff were sweet too. All are badass guns.

no way best gun fight ever was the openiing of hard boild with chow yung fat or however you spell his name.
nothing beats dual gunning with 45s as you slide down two flights of stairs on the railing. damn those hong kong movie makers know how to do there gun fights right.

best gun in a movie was the 20mm belt fed anti aircraft gun from the jackal.
what was it that they said in the movie it could have a 100 rounds off before the first one hit the target.

did i mention that it was remotly operated by computer, for those that havnt seen the movie

ya that was a good one in Hard Boiled. I just prefer them to be a little(i stress little here) more on the realistic side i.E. The Professional. If you haven't seen the directors cut of that you are missing out!!!

Benicio del Toro's Galil (.308, I believe) in the Way of the Gun. That one get's my vote.

Augustus McCrae's Henry rifle in Lonesome Dove gets second runner up. Oh, almost forgot the Martini Henry rifles of Zulu (and Zulu Dawn) fame. Ahh, now that I really start thinking about it, there are too many to mention...

Strange I haven't heard more vote's for the Spas12. Like the Desert Eagle, it is one of those firearms that has somehow gained more popularity than it deserves - based mostly on menacing looks and a lack of a technical advisor on the movie set.

see the venom in action: http://www.pipersprecisionproducts.c.../MVC-venom.MPG

i know these dont really count as miniguns cause they only shoot BB's but i still think theyre cool
