As I age into maturity and old peopleness, pickles, no matter which ones, are starting to taste really weird. I guess my palate is changing, for better or for worse. Besides, not a big fan of dill.

      LOL!! Funny.

As for the mac&cheese idea...that's interesting. Chopped hotdogs is always a good way to add flavor to M&C!

As for having pizza, well, I think our company orders pizza every other night for their employees that work late. Needless to say, that can ruin the excitement of having pizza.

However, I was one of those guys who could practically live off of cereal. That's also a nice cheap way of having a little something to eat.

Dill pickles is actually something I never cared for until this past summer when we were out playing paintball on a VERY HOT and DRY day. Normally, I wouldn't eat it but when you're hot and hungry...the chilled, salty dill pickle helps cool you down as well as retain the water in your system.

Anyway, I might try out the microwaveable M&C, get some cereal to munch on, and if it helps with the flavor, add a portion of a boullion to the soup. Oh, and definitely pick up some more bread for peanut butter and jelly sandwich!

My "lunch" rules! Tastes like a snicker bar and WAY healthier than your noodles and junk. Might as well be MSG'D!!!! with all the sodium those things contain. I eat one just about every day for lunch unless I go out with someone.

Drink a bottle of water and have an apple and im set. But I dont really eat lunch, thats just like a mid lunch snack cause I eat every 3 hours.

baked potatos are good. ramen is good but I have to add a bit more bullion and usually a handfull of frozen veggies. A nice omelet can be tasty too.

Hehehe, well, I forgot the name. Where I live, we have that or Ramen and that is it. So it would be like a Civic or that Ford Car.

It's packaged similarly to Ramen, but spicier. In any case, those Korean noodles are good.

As far as saimen goes, if you put green onions, portugese sausage, fish cake, char sui, and those little dried shrimp in the mix.....YUUUUUMMMMEEEEE Wouldn't be cheap anymore but it would be tasty.

What about ravioli's or you could always buy a bunch of hamburgers from McDonalds when they have 2 for a dollar and freeze them until needed LOL

Don't diss the Dollar Menu. Although I do remember those 50 cent hamburger Sundays, lol...

I agree, you can't really go wrong with Ramen, peanut butter (with banana is good, as someone mentioned) sandwiches of any variety... I've found that drinking lots of water can fill you up a lot more than a ton of food, plus it's better for you (although you'll probably be making frequent trips to the bathroom, heh). If you have access to a refridgerator, turkey or chicken sandwiches are always good... I always add a lot of veggies in there too. Fruit always fills you up, the problem is making sure it stays fresh.

I dunno if I'm the only one who enjoys grilling certain things to make em taste better? Like a grilled ham and cheese sandwich, or a grilled turkey wrap? For some reason those fill the void in my stomach nicely.

And if you're looking for a "bar" type meal, it's gotta be Clif Bars. When I'm too busy to eat lunch, I just have one of those and a glass of water, it tastes good, and does a good job of giving me energy and satisfying my hunger.

Uh... I can't really think of any general "cheap" meals... sometimes having something like a dollar menu around helps (I recommend Wendy's if you venture that way), or knowing the cheapest meals at a local restaurant.

Man the best sandwich in the world is peanut butter and ham. I wanted a PB and a Ham sandwich one day. But I only had to peices of bread. So I tossed them together and its my all time favorite sandwhich. Cheap to if you buy like the grocery store brand of all three. I mean it all tastes the same.

ill take cup o noodles over ramen anyday, but i do have to say the only way to eat ramen-everyone needs to try this-is to drain the noodles before u put the seasonings on other wise they dont have a taste

Deffinately don't dis the Ramen Noodles. Many years ago when me and some friends moved into our first apartment out of highschool we were flat broke after paying all the deposits and everything. We went to the grocery store were we luckily found store brand ramen noodles on sale for like 10/$1 plus buy on get one free so we got them like 20/$1 we bought like $10 worth of ramen noodles and lived off those things till we had enough money to buy more food.

And believe me when you have nothing but Ramen to eat you start learning ways to make it better. After we got some cash we started buying hotdogs to slice up and add as has already been mentioned , that and we often would throw a slice or 2 of cheese in it. And always drain the water or at least most of it off so it has more flavor. Favirtite flavors for me are the oriental ones and the Hot & Spicy ones.

Another cheap way to eat I learned from a guy at work. He goes to the local grocery store on break and buys a pack of hotdogs and a cheap loaf of bread. Then on the way back stops at the Quick Trip and grabs handfulls of ketchup and mustard packs. Says by buying whatever hotdogs are on sale he can eat for a couple days for less than $3.
