    Service people piss me off

Is it me or does every other service person (cashiers mainly) try to rip you off?

For instance, I was down at the NPS store with the drexel paintball team on sat. picking up paint. The guy tries to charge us 5 dollars more than what we normally pay (we're sponsored by national) until my friend says "I thought it was less than that" and the guy conviently checks and lowers it to the normal price.

Then today, at the 7-11 across the street from my dorm, I'm inline with some stuff for my dorm. I have my drexel ID card out because I can use the money on the card to pay for stuff from that 7-11. The guy infront of me has a coffee and plops down a 100 to pay for it. Then the dude behind the register says he can't break it. They talk in indian or some arabic language for a few seconds and the clerk asks for my stuff. He scans it or whatever and I happen to watch the register as it types in 1 large coffee, what the other guy wanted to get. Then I say that the coffee isn't mine, its his and he acts like it was a mistake. Then, when he swipes my drexel card he says it didn't go through.

    Bull!

He made me pay in cash because I didn't let him charge his friends coffee with my own damn money.

AND I can remember numorous times when gas attendents from stations I don't normally go to (like near paintball fields) would tell me a higher price than what was on the machine just to pocket a few bills.

If I've caught people those times, imagine how many times I haven't caught them!

    ARRG!

    Done venting..

    Anyone else have this problem?

Some are nice, most are bad.

The other day I was at a Gas Station buying a MD. I went up and the lady said the 1 liter was cheaper.. and a bigger bottle then the one I had.

But yea.. they are mostely out to jip you.

Sorry to hear about your encounters... doesn't happen like that around where I live. I generally try to get all my stuff online, minus say, clothes and food, instead of dealing with clerks like that. I hate it when clerks at Best Buy, or a similar store, try to swindle you into buying some obsolete warantee, and claim they aren't getting commission for it. They also claim they "have" such a product, and it "breaks" all the time... such BS.

as far as the nps situation goes

when i was at drexel, one of the founders actually asked them why everytime he bought pods they were a differen't price. their dealer prices on product fluctuate dependent on the amount of inventory they have in stock.

Make sure you specify the industy where people work a littl more clearly.

When you say "service" people your referencing people in the Armed Services. I.E. military.

But if your talking about people in CUSTOMER SERVICE there is a GREAT difference.

o wo didn't think about the armed forces, I mean ya know like any industry where the people serve you

                not like armed services

lemme see if i can edit the title

Heat, sometimes, but the 7-11 thing was no mistake.

You seem to be confusing mistakes with "rip-offs", and by the sound of your reaction, here's the first stone, go ahead and try to cast it.

Dude I sat there and watched the guy try to pay for the coffee with a 100, which the clerk couldn't cash, he said so several times. Then when I'm being checked out the guy just waits there after they talk, as though he will be getting his coffee despite the fact he isn't taking out a credit card or looking for change.

It's no big deal, its just annoying and I had to vent.
