Ah the breath of fresh air that is youth.......

I did a similar thing that include a can of hairspray a hand and a lighter...oh and a video camera, it was done live in front of around 1000 people in a nightclub and recorded....though unfortunately the tape has since been erased...not as bad as Mr.Pink but then I was a great deal younger

Putting gas cylinders on top of a camping stove and lighting the stove to watch the cylinder fly seemed like a good idea at the time too...it went bang alright but instead of the cylinder flying skywards it blew up and destroyed the stove......I had thought it would but had to try to see.....I was bored on a fishing trip.

We threw a lot of stuff straight up before getting it right.

building a trebuchet isnt that hard to do if you have the materials and the room to build it. (talking from a design stand point depending on the size it would be physically difficult to build one though )

i need to make a teeter totter style one though the one i made for an 8th grade science project was pretty powerful (it didnt get as much distances because we had to use a tiny room to do it in rather then the gym or something so it ended up bouncing of the walls 8 times then stopped about 2 ft in front of where i launched it so i lost some how) but when you released it the whole thing would flip over.

This would be fun to complement the collection of aerosol powered potato launchers I have
But an engine block 150 yards, imagine what that could do to a care bear filled with construction adhesive launched at a concreat wall.

Wasn't hard to build, couple of guys with some power tools and a decent working plan based on other designs that were successful.

Put the whole thing together for about 500 bucks.

$500? Ok, back to some garage door springs and a pickup truck.

yeah the expensive parts were the laminated beams we used for the arm.

I've seen a few tre's that came apart because the beam was made out of some POS materials.

I didn't feel like finding out personally what that would look like when that energy stored was released when the arm blew up....

Leg on fire (that really must have left a bad burn)

And look for the burning shoe at the end
