    My answear would be no.
I forget who it was, some president i think something like. Those who are willing to give up their rights for security are deserving of neither.

    I'm 16

My answer would be no, too, because giving up freedoms is a slippery slope (it's like paintgun upgrades, you start by thinking your gonna buy a stock gun and maybe a barrel, and you end up playing with 1500.00 worth of stuff).

BTW, the quote is from Ben Franklin.

          My dad said -
No. I like the way my life is and would not
want to give up his freedom

I said the same thing -
No. Freedom is not worth giving up.

members of the Armed Services give up life and liberty, for homeland security and everything else. That is the only way i would give up any liberties, because the government would take freedoms like taxes, once they have them ill never see them again.

I also say no. I think that giving up freedoms for stuff like that isn't worth it...Property security wouldn't give as big of effect as giving up freedom...

No, because the odds of you personally being attacked by a terrorist in this current state that we are in is less than winning the lottery....but if it was a much more drastic situation like they controlled the entire western part of the country and were constantly bombing us it would be a different answer. The current answer is NO

when a government gets a new power, they never give it up. if we made decisions now, based onirrational fear and anxiety surrounding the WTC, to give the government more power, those decisions will be effecting us our whole lives, and our childrens lives, and their childrens lives.

anything that makes government bigger is bad.

The answer would be NO. "Those who give up freedom for security deserve niether."

Giving up any freedoms at all simply lays the groundwork for the government to chip away at our liberties. This has happend time and time and time again. The big one of course that I champion for is private gun owner ship. Many people say, hey - we should register guns. It sounds like a good idea - doesnt hurt anyone, can only help! Yes it does help - it helps the government round up those guns when they outlaw them (see Nazi Germany, Canada, and Australia).

The more control the government has over your daily lives and rights, the closer we come to a facist government.

Id urge many of you to read 1984 by George Orwell.

Laws already exist that prohibit what was done. Making more will not help. Why should we let them win by becoming a more closed and less free society? I say clean up the world like we are trying to do now and give more liberties to everyone in the world not less.
