you have nothing to complain about.

this is where I vent about how great my last two weeks have been:

I have 17 credit hours of 500+ level graduate classes.

Included in that is a 5credit architecture design studio, a graphic design studio, critical theory, etc...

I have slept... maybe 12 hours... since last saturday...

I have drank 4 cups of coffee... since 3pm today...

I have had papers/projects/presentations and the odd exam every day for the last two weeks... and this week ain't over yet...

the only consolation i have is that (yes, i'm crazy for this) is that I can kick back at the end of the week with the fraternity that I'm pledging and forget my classes for a little while...

      sleepy

college life just plain screws up your sleep patterns. Because theres always more stuff to do aftr like 11pm. Think about it at 11pm people start playing around because theres nothing else to do, its to late to start studying or working.

when im at home I wake up a 4:30am each day to goto work at a golf course and I goto bed at like 11-12pm.

whn Im at school, Im up at 9am and i dont sleep until like 4am, and its been like that since freshman year, Im a junior now.

I also start my morings off with 4 shots of exspresso and two large coffees. Oh and I drink 8-12 cups of coffee a day. Just drink lots of water and youll be fine, oh and if your feel lightheaded from the cofee that means you need to switch to exspresso.
What other sport do i get to shoot people on purpose?

Also know as PBall=my obsession on the nation

One thing that hasn't been said is the whle insomnia thing. If you're trying to sleep, but can't, they tell you to do all your homework in the computer lab, or somebody elses room. That way your brain doesn't sunconsciously reconize your own room as your "thinking room". If you're just screwing around all night...well, just don't.

Either way, try to get more sleep. Freshman year is the classic time to get demoralized by college life and drop out. And don't freak out over bad grades and assume you can't make it, either. I know a couple kids who did that, and their only problem was that it took them a while to learn how to correctly write papers! Whatever...enjoy it.
-For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain. Philipians 1:21

-Don't try to use your fancy smancy "logic" on me! It won't work!

-It is better to stay silent, and be thought a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.

Hmm my brain recognizes my room as the screw around room, I cannot do any work at all in my room if I want to

I dont want to discourage you, but it's only gonna get harder. Sounds like a time management thing. We had Learning Assistants living in the freshman dorms. They had a bunch of tips. You'd be suprised how much time you waste in a day if you think about it. Just to think about it a little. You have like, 5 hours of class a day. Say, you get 8 hours of sleep a day. An hour for meals and a shower. That leaves 10 hours to get your work done. If you have 10 hours of hw everyday, then WOAH! that sucks. Some weeks the projects will all pile up and you might have that much work, if you manage your time, then you won't have a problem

Regardless of the classes I'm taking, I think college got easier after freshman year.

                College blows...

It's my first year at college and I was gonna get a Mechanical Engineering major, but I've decided that next semester I'm just going to take some easy/fun classes and then drop out at the end of the year and go back home where I belong!

I was taking 23 credit hours, but had to drop my 5 credit hour calculus class because I was just not comprehending what the wierd/crazy/a-hole teacher was trying to teach us... About half of the class dropped it because the guy is such a jerk and a poor teacher. I also tested out of my 3 credit hour computer class, so now I'm down to a happy 15 credit hours

Even though I'm down to 15 I'm still not diggin college. I dunno why I even came (for the record it's because my mom forced me to) all I'm going to do is be a farmer/rancher/redneck!

Next year after I am back at home living with my parents I will probably end up taking Automotive Technology classes at the local junior college... I've already taken a few of them, and let me tell you... those classes are FUN!

The only good thing about college so far is that I can play around in the machine shop anytime I want to... I've already milled a cocker hinge frame to accept a rainmaker circuit board, milled an autococker body extensively, and made a frame adapter/mac mount for my rainmaker! YAY!

I don't remember what I've done the last three years. My information says I'm a Senior with 19 credits of 300 and 400 level engineering classes. I think my major is Mechanical Engineering and this is my fourth year at this school...

Get the point? College will burn you out like nothing else. You're going to have to deal with it and put up with everything that drives you up the wall for four 4 years or more. College is really just a test of seeing if you can cut the work and make it in four years.

yep after 4 years of college one thing has become very clear to me, as soon as im done with my masters im going to find me a nice job roofing houses i was always told working with your mind will make you more money, and money is happyness, well my friend, i do not want to work with my mind, i want to develop my thoughts and mind but i would rather work with my back....

lord knows i lack the courage to do that however, i will probably just fall in line yet again...

I get 4 hours of class 3 days, and 7.5 two days of the week... being an art student, I tend to get a lot of outside work, which also takes a lot of time.

Anyway, thanks for the encouragement (some of you, at least). I did make it to my class friday, and it turns out I realy didn't miss too much. I've been doing well so far, and I'm enjoying it, so college isn't all that bad. I just screwed up this week by sleeping in two times...

Yeah, I'm in the same boat pretty much. I have 5 4 hour classes a week and by the time I finish doing homeowork and projects for those classes not to mention working on my own stuff(cause everyone knows that's where the portfolio work comes from ) I figure I put in about 6-7 hours a week for each class I have outside of school. That's not even counting all the clubs everyone wants you to join or the internships I'll be looking for next quarter. So as you can see by what most of us have said you may rarely sleep but just make the best of it and have fun cause it's gonna be the funnest time of your life.
