Yeah, I would close this thread too. Its allready been getting personal for some time. I have a feeling things will get a lot uglier since neither side, CB vs. AO, will admit defeat and neither side has been swayed by the others points in the over 15 pages of debating.

This is just a side note but is it just me or is debating with people online so much more infuriating than in face to face :). This is'nt a bash on anyone person, its just agravating.
So much in debating can be accomplished with facial expressions and voice inflections. It always pisses me off when I think I've written a good retort, which in a face to face debate could be said in such a way as to pretty much "seal the debate", but all its impact is reduced to just words on a screen. Those smilies just dont do enough:)........................

I think thats the reason you cant really win a debate online, its easy to ignore someone's arguement when its just words on a screen. Oh well, screw it, I guess its one way to kill time

Shartly you should know more then anyone on here that everything has its limits. No matter how much your training is better then the others, no matter your equipment, no matter how good you are, you have your limits. Put that air marshal in a jungle or urban setting, and I bet he could take out 100 people. Put him in a crowded plane, and 3 is pushing it.

You were trained on old ideas and old techniques to deal with those old ideas. We do not understand terrorism today, we definatly did not undersand it yesterday. Training changes from day to day. New techniques and understanding of limits change from day to day.

No matter what system you put into place in an airplane the terrorist will always find a way around it. They train for at least 2 years on this exact procedure, this exact moment in their lives. They set the place of battle, they set the mode of battle, they have all the cards in their favor. The air marshal while being highly trained with his choice of weapon, has his limits. I put his limits stopping at 5 or 6 people, others might put them a little higher.

You statments on me, only shows how little you understand that which you are talking about.

I am not some little kid that is impressed with old time stories of how you did it, this is today, how do you do it, is a more relevant question. Time changes, you either change, or you get left behind.

I think at least 5 years in the future every time I post, that leads to people not liking what I say, too bad for them.

But so far I have been on the money on most of my predictions and arguments. Maybe that is something you need to experience.

Will I be wrong about the Air Marshal, I sure hope so, but I don't see it. Maybe they got some new equipment that will aide him in his job, which raise the limits of the marshal. But with one marshal on a 727 or anyother single aisle plane, his limits are exceded with 5 or 6 guys.

No I do not always but the lesser skills on the marshal. The marshal will be over all better trained. He can take out upwards of 3 if pushing it 4, giving the sitting that is set in this discussion (a smaller inter US jet with one aisle). The terrorist will be trained for at least 2 years for one job, for one setting.

My statement about the jungle was in response to yours about the Iraqi's. My points was to say if the person had unlimited hiding place, unlimited movement, unlimited areas to use his skills best, one person can take out 100 people.

Take one look at the planes in question in this thread. The situations present to the air marshal are not to his best interest when going against these amounts of men with their untiring urge to take him out. He can take out 3 to 4, but 6 guys is beyond his abilities no matter how much training he has, no matter if his training is designed for that situation, everything has its limit.

Was you trained yesterday, if not your training is practically out of date. We understand new ways of handling things everyday, to say that what I learned 10 years or whatever ago is true today is ignorant at best.

No the situation today is not the same as it was 10-20 years ago. We did not understand to the measures of what these people will go through. We never have tested the measure of an air marshal against 6 guys in an air liner that does not discriminate against a race. We have no idea what will happen, training in this situation is your best guess of what will happen. (No matter how much you say it isn't, until we know what will exactly happen, it is your best guess.)

YOU do not understand terrorism today, you for sure did not understand it yesterday.

Have you ever sat down and talked to people affect by our anti-terroristic practices, talked to them about what brings their country men to do those horrible acts. have you ever sat day and thought of a terrorist as just another person, who at sometime in their life something happened to cause them to take their life for something they feel so deep about. Have you ever tried to understand terrorism beyond the idea of how can I kill them. Not how can I stop terrorism.

Go have a beer with your friends of yester year, talk about how well it was in the past, how you did it back then, and how if everything was done like you did 10-20 years ago the world would be safe.
