      Hey,

drifting is huge here in Japan where I live. I kinda tried it, but even with hudge sticky tires up front and skinny bald *** tires in the back, I still cant hold a drift very long in my GTO TT

my daddy races dirt sprint cars, and they refer to their correnering style as broadsliding. I dont know if its the same thing as driffting. The idea is to take the corrner so hard you you lose the bite at the apex and slide around the second corrner so the car is pointing stright down the strightaway....then you just stomp it to the floor and head for the next turn. If done just right you lose just enough speed in the slide for the tires to bite again, and your off...done wrong and you dont lose bite possiable putting you over the dirt bank
Tom was the last of a now extinct breed, a breed of players who build a community, a breed of owners who gave to the sport never taking more than what they deserved. I hope to see you at the feild again some day....

There is show drifting and race drifting. The show drifting works on techniques and lines and difficulty of the drifts.

Then there's race drifting, used in in rallying, and sometimes even extreme situations in racing.

Not all drift moves involve the ebrake, actually ebrake turns are n00b drifting. Good drifting involves either clutch manipulation, weight shifting, exessive speed, or excessive revs.

oh, hahaha. If that's what you meant by that then I must of mistook what you meant.

I didn't really mean like "n00b" newb drifting... more like beginner/non serious drifting.

Hmm, I need to learn to do that. I wonder whta they would do on a road test if you parallel parked like that :)

shartley, I go to drifting events a lot. And let me tell you, the most extreme drifters don't use the ebrake. It's usually the beginners.

You may have seen differently, but I go to the events with the D-1 Drivers, who are pro's because they have the most dramatic and wild drifts, and they rarely use the e-brake. They use inertia and dynamic drifting.

I have been practicing, although I plan to never take drifting seriously, I plan to compete in some events just for fun, since my friends are drifting fanatics.

But, I really want to get some time on the road racing track, and autocross.
