    Matrix Revolutions *with spoliers*

I know there are other threads, but I want this to be strictly talk about what the hell happened in Matrix Revolutions, no holding back.

I've seen the movie but there is so much in it I didn't understand. Like how could Neo do stuff with his mind and destroy those machines OUTSIDE the Matrix? Was he outside the Matrix?

What was up with Agent Smith, how could he get inside that one guys body OUTSIDE the Matrix?

What happened at the end of the movie, why did the machines stop? How did Neo destroy the agents?

Both Neo and agent Smith were able to retain their abilities in the other world because of the "train station" that acted as a link. And yes Zion is outside the matrix.

The machines stopped because Neo defeated agent Smith, thus completing his end of the deal with the machines. He was able to destroy Agent Smith, basically because he made the choice I think not reallly sure.

Anyway what do you people think happened to Neo, what has he become? how? Is Trinity still alive? and if so why? Also will there be another matrix despite what the W. Bro's said?

trinity is dead. Neo may be too, who knows, he did what he had to do. He won't be able to "do his superman thing" anymore anyways so even if he was definately alive at the ending it wouldn't have been so cool.

here's my question, that i really wish they had touched upon....

What happens to the people farms the machines use for power? They were still plugged in when smith fubared the matrix good, does peace just mean between zion and the machines or do the machines have to let all the people go too?

      Eh....kinda a weak ending

Neo can see that stuff because at the end of the second flick he got sort of patched into the source. Thats why he could control the sentinals and stuff.

Agent Smith took over a guys body in the matrix in Reloaded, and then went out of the matrix through the exit phone.

And as for the end, What I think happened is that Neo discovered a link between all the smiths. When Smith said "everything that has a beginning has an end" Neo realized taht thats what the orracle said to, and that there is some kind of connection between the smith's. Therefore, he let himself be turned into one so that the machines could delete the program through Neo, since he was patched in at the source. I also think Neo is dead.

lol that is answered word for word at the end of the movie.

          They will be freed.

I thought the ending was cheap, and was along the lines of what I was expecting (i.e. it wouldn't be an OH WOW ending, it was basicly just one of the dozen or so ideas I'd heard before).

I think Neo was able to destroy Smith because when Smith took his body part of Neo was still alive, same as the oracle. The people Smith took over were not totally destroyed, but were added to his program. This allowed the machine boss to use Neo to destroy the Smith program.

That fight scene in the air was pretty sweet, you'll never see Superman do any of the fighting like that. I also wonder what would have happened if Agent Smith would have taken over some of those rogue programs, especially the Merovingian and Persephone.

The machines stopped because Neo asked for peace in trade for taking care of Smith. I think the brain machine thing helped Neo baleet Smith.

Neo will have to be reborn. The Matrix will need to go up again as it is needed to keep their crops from failing.

Eventually the machines themselves will have to be destroyed.

I have a feeling that the little girl is going to be very powerful later... considering who her parents are and what abilities she may have inherited from them. I don't think the Oracle can be as useful from here on, because what is happening is new and she has no record of it.

Now, why don't they like... use monkeys for power or something. Give them a Matrix with bananas and stuff, and they're all good.

NO! There is no inhabitable world anymore. They don't have cities, there are no plants or animals, the sky is scorched, and although the deal was for peace that doesn't mean the machines are going to essentially commit suicide.

This whole damn mess brought em back to square 1. If they stayed in their hole there never would have been an epic battle.

hey guys get this...You know how the architect says that the purpose of the 1 is to return to the matrix and rebuild zion, and start the whole cycle over again. Although neo defied him, thats what he did eventually, only in a less direct manner. At the end the matrix is rebuilt, just as it was before but without a bunch of the unnecessary programs, a 7th revision of the matrix.

Also I think the reason that neo was able to destroy smith was that both of them were just left over parts of the equation. When smith's words that every beginning has an end dawned on neo I guess he understood it. The one and the anti-christ, lol, would offset each other and restore the balance of the matrix.

While i still feel it was a bit of a cop out as I think about it some more and chat it over with people it's got a little more meaning than i absorbed just sitting in the theater.

Still the lame thing is that the human race hasn't gotten anywhere, 99% of them are still batteries.

or nuclear power. I betcha 1 power plant like we have today would provide way more harnessable energy than every human on earth, without a lot of the disadvantage

Meh. I was hoping the machines and humans would fuse to form a whole new life form, kind of like the borg, I guess. There were so many plot holes I don't even want to get into it, and some of the dialogue was so cheesy the entire theatre was laughing when trinity died. I really wished they would have kept the whole "love story" out of the matrix entirely. This would have made the whole series darker, like it should have been. I mean, come on, the human race enslaved as batteries by a race of machines personally designed by satan, and they're acting like heartbroken 15 year olds. I dunno, maybe I'm just expecting too much out of movies these days.

Yeah, but I took that to mean a return to the status quo. That things would progress as they always did. Everyone would remain plugged in except for the few people that they release from the Matrix.

I think basicallty what happens is the matrix continues, as it did in the past, with Zion until the next "The One" when the truce is ended and the cycle restarts.

On another note, it looks like the Matrix folks aren't making any more movies, but are going to continue telling the story in books. That's pretty cool.
Or better yet, why don't you kill yourself. No, really, die. Drop dead, don't leave a note, in fact burn your house while your little ego is stuck in a bench vice so that you'll also incenerate yourslef and everything you own with it. Because that's all you're worth. You're not even wirh thte time it'll take for the house to burn down, so just kill yourself. You're a waste of space. You are nothing, you always will be nothing. Don't leave a note, you're not worth the ink. - Tyger

Neo was able to kill Agent Smith, because Smith finally make the "choice" to call him Neo. That made Neo realize that he in fact had the power to stop him.

Neo died at the end, Trinity died before him.

They will have to continue to live in Zion even if they are freed, it is the warmest place left, close to the Earth's core.

I want a APU, those things are bad ***. Also seems to me if they would just take the time to invent some kind of directional EMP weapon this movie would have been over in the time it took them to get to Machine City.

Smith was the machine/program opposite of neo, his negitive. He was created for that reason, the orical told neo that. Neo couldent kill Smith, Smith couldent kill Neo...so Neo let Smith take him...it is enivitable, they could have fought for decades otherwise. Neither had a weakness in that world.

                            +1 + -1 = 0

and i believe Neo is dead, and the war is over. Neo saved the machine world, if he hadent negated Smith then Smith would have taken EVERYTHING in the machine world as he did in the matrix. In return the Machines allowed the humans to survive, and according to the arcitect at the end they will free all those still plugged in. As for a powersource, im sure the machines will come up with something, wind, geo-thermal, nuclear...something not like they have to worry about saving the enviroment.

It was not suicide, it was compremise, something humans and machines had given up on so long ago...compremise for survival.

                            no, i dident know...but i believed
Tom was the last of a now extinct breed, a breed of players who build a community, a breed of owners who gave to the sport never taking more than what they deserved. I hope to see you at the feild again some day....

I think when Smith said "Everything that has a begining has an end." Neo realized that some of the original program/person remains when Smith takes over. That allowed him to destroy smith from within.

The machines stopped attacking when Neo made the deal with the CPU of the machines in 01. Then he fought Smith and destroyed him, his part of the deal. The machiens then withdrew from Zion, their part of the deal.

When the Architect and the Oracle are speaking he says he will free those that want to be freed. That's not everyone, so the machines will still have a power source.

I really liked the ending. Peace was forged, but there was a cost. It was not an all happy ending.
