    yes this infringes your rights as an American citizen, but Congress did it to make the country feel a little safer

        hey pyro, I believe P-51's went for around $1500 after WWII, or was it $2500......

        as far as the right to bear arms.. If we all remember our US history, the men who wrote the Constitution just helped kick out a government that they deemed oppressive to the colonies, well they did a few years earlier. stupid the taxes. anyway, the right to bear arms was written with the intent to allow common folk to pick up some guns and boot out a government that was not working for them. the militia back then was all the men of a town "bearing arms" against the british army.

        from the declaration of independence...

        "..That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, --That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness..."

        "It is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it.." seems to me the only way to abolish a government is if the people are allowed to "bear arms" against their own government. Since the declaration of independce was written during the same time period as the Constitution, relatively, it provides an interesting insight into the mindset of the founding fathers, well at least I think so.

        From what I remember from my history classes, people feared a strong centralized government, hence the reason for the weak articles of confederation. the right to bear arms was a way to prevent the govt from becoming too strong or too oppressive.

        how does any of that pertain to the present? meh, I dunno. it was supposed to keep our govt in check, and I dont think a group of guys with m-16s based in the middle of the country can stand up against our military should they decide to overthrow our govt, but I do believe that when the constitution was written, the founding fathers wanted to make sure that the people of the United States at least had the ability to attempt a coup, if they felt it necessary. afterall, isnt that what the revolutionary war was all about?

        I hope that made some kind of sense..lol

            And anyone who sys it is, doesn't know their backside from a hole in the ground.

            You want changes? There's a proces for doing so.

            Amend it.

            You don't get to go and choose your own meaning from what's already there.

                      P-47, nothing like 8 50 cals. spitfire is an older design. I like the fw 190 though.... hmmm meh, p-51 is the sexy beast, besides its the one with the best range. but I would much rather have an F-86 if I could get my hands on a jet.

                        I know its weird but I always thought of planes as boxing personalities.

                        the P-51 reminds me of a sugar ray robinson/ muhamid ali type. a real fast, sleek, artistic fighter.

                        the P-47 reminds me of a rocky marciano/ joe frazier type. A real brawler who aint very gracefull but can take and deliver alot of punishment!

                              not a boxing fan, but I get the analogy. and yes, corsairs are very sweet. WWII was a very good time for aircraft production, so many awesome designs. and just think of all that stuff the germans had been developing, but never got into production, or past the design stage.
