I beleive they do not sell surplus Humvees from the military, something to do with being concerned about some "technician" at autozone or something opening the hood and having or causing all sorts of problems with the 24 volt electrical system (don't quote me on that).
The H1 - awesome, 2 to 1 gear reduction at the end of the axle coupled with a 4:11 gear ratio (I think). The SOB can climb a 2 foot tall wall, of course its top speed is also pretty close to 80MPH but. That does not even consider the optional snorkel kit. Considering the civilian model has leather options I can't imagine watching the water run into the interior. These are just awesome, and have no use in the civilian world other than off road.
The H2 - buy a Suburban, aside from looks the Suburban will do. That being said how much is a Suburban loaded out? - you may be surprised to find it as expensive as the H2.

If some soccer mom needs an H2 to impress her kids' friends, more power to her.

So jealousy does not have to hinge on being “poor”, and not being able to afford things does not instantly MAKE you poor either.
