As for slam dancing, I have not seen true slam dancing in years. Last time I think I can say I saw true slam dancing was at a Husker Du show in the early 90's. Now days it's just one big pit and people trying to crowd surf.

Man, I wish I wouldn't have waited around a week and a half to try and get tickets for the Jagermeister Tour. Slayer has been to Seattle twice in the past 2 years and I've missed them both times and now a third. This will be my friend, Eric's third time seeing them and he says ever time he's seen them it's been crazier.

I think the only band that I must see now before I die is Gwar just to see their stage show as well as get drenched by all the fake blood they spray but they haven't been back to seattle in like 3 years.

Man, what's with all this ragging on Vendetta Red?? Nah, they really aren't that great anymore live are they. I remember seeing htem when they were just a little band playing small shows in Seattle, then one day they kind of hit it big making it on the major radio stations and bigger tours. Then they switched to more touchy feeley emo sounding music and started sounding like crap.

Hopefully that won't happen to my favorite local band Pretty Girls Make Graves. should definately check them out.

well im ragging on them because i was way in the back and still almost went deaf from this constant noise (it wasnt even music just a bunch of jibberish playing) with this guy shrieking into the mic then shouting after "WANNA HEAR ANOTHER LOVE SONG?"

funny part was watching from the back you could only see 3 people accualy jumping the whole time they played

at the show I went to, mistaken for stars and hopesfalls opend, and mistaken for stars sucked alot, just lots of noise and screaming, nothing more. But hopesfall was great. They had a nice mosh pit going. And their was real slam dancing going on at th show. Their was a big cercle and lots of people, including me(me and my friends were the only people in their at somepoints though) running into eachother and shoving each other ect. It was mad fun.

From what I have seen slam dancing is no longer, big there are still a few "old school" people doing it, but none of the younger guys have any clue how.

Also might I add, I think the pit varies from scene to scene, all the hardcore pits I have been in have been great, nothing involving violence, and someone gets knocked down you help them up mentality. But some of the hard rock shows are just a bunch of kids who have no clue what they are doing, and just try to hurt peeps.

Wow, you must be pretty sheltered if you think an Ataris pit is intense. You'd never make it out of a streetpunk, oi!, or thrash pit.

Might I ask what the deal is with all the crazy kung fu like stuff that goes on in all the hardcore pits. I mean, I've been to tons of hardcore shows but what's the deal with everyone that does all the air punching and kicking? Or is it just a Seattle thing.
