Whenever people say that they're missing one MAJOR point. When the death penalty was created thousands of years ago the basic premise was that it was sending the person to hell faster, so they could begin their suffering for all eternity faster. If you believe in heaven and hell then the death penalty is a MAJOR punishment, as all suffering on earth pales to suffering in hell.

If you don't then it's just shortening your time on earth, nothing more.

And in many instances it aids the victim's families in moving on, knowing that the monster that stole their loved one is no longer on this planet.

Well, if we do it often enough it stops being unusual. Then all we need to do is say nice things while we flog them and it isn't cruel

I think there'd be FAR less crime if we went back to public flogging for misdemeanors and minor felonies. It would DEFINATELY make crimminals think twice about committing a crime. Jail time is one thing, but being publically humiliated in a VERY VERY painful way is even WORSE.

i wish Canada would bring back the death penalty. i have a friedn who works in a correctional facility here in ontario.one of the people in their is paul bernado.for thoes of you who dont know who he is- he kipnapped 2 15 year olds,raped them over and over,taped it,them killed them.he is sitting in a cell with cabel tv,his own guards,( they will not but him with other prisoners cause they will kill him ),has his own shower,access to a computer.this is not right,he should just be taken out back and shot.and to boot here ic Canada a life sentence is over in 25 years so he will be a free man when hes 60.

i say we brake his arms and legs at the joints and throw him in a hot desert with no water then he would scourch to death and die the way he should. or we could hang him with a improperly tied knot so he chokes for a real long time.

Hmmmm... maybe we can trade prisoners for favorable trade aggreements with china. If they promise that the prisoners never return to america we will cut the import tax rate on chinese goods in half.

LOL! The area where the kkk was founded is 45 min from my house, and there used to be a KKK group in my town before they got busted. Our town also had a black family move here sometime back, and within 2 weeks a burning cross was found in there yard, and they moved.
