Starting Shaving

Me either, my electric razor owns. I don't really have a bunch of facial hair, but it's spread out over my upper lip and chin, so it looks like I have dirt on my face. Grows quickly too, so I have to shave every 2 days.

I stopped shaving with a razor last year. Now I use my beard/mustache trimmer. I just take the guard off of it, so it's like hair clippers. My face always felt like crap after I shaved with a razor. And it was soft and smooth too, so I felt like a wuss. Now I have a sandpaper face all the time. I like it, and it's more comfortable. I usually just wait till I get itchy, then I shave.

when i was little i wanted to start shaving so i would shave, bad idea, now you have to shave alot if you don't want the little stubbles, pos. like a year ago gilette sent me a free razor(mach 3) and gel. pretty sweet i think

same here. still use it. it owns. Also, i have a straight edge, but i know if i use it (in the morning) ill cut my neck to hell.

yeah people say get sensitive shaving gel... well your ahem puberty age i would highly recommend deap clean by mennon... i use it and it helps clean my face and it gets the job done and it does leave my face fealing good.


now razor i would highly recommend the schick quattro or the mach 3 (in red of course) only experience icve had with razors and tehy get a close nice shave...


dont wait to long inbetween shaving like wear your facial hair gets like a centimeter long cuase its really hurts to shave that off


and yes shaving is a lifetime of he1l... just like girls complain about shaving there legs. its just as bad to wake up everymorning and shave.


and its a hella lot easier then you think just think its you with your mag going up against some dufus with a talon your gonna kick its arse

I gotta shave ever 10mins I'm a real man lol j/m . I use the electric shaver in the start and then at the end I use the regular ol' blade shaver to clean everything up around the neck and by the sideburn area. Works great. I had to teach myself how to do it..... I like to do it, its sorta fun, but annoyin when in a rush . I've also never cut myself .

Same here. The only time my face touches a straight blade is at the barbers, and he uses it, NOT me. I refuse to even TRY to use one. I'm afraid I'd slit my throat.

I use a mach3 turbo and gillete gel with tea oil. Great shave every time. ANd if I go a few days w/o shaving, I go over my face first with the beard trimmers on my electric (also use them to keep my goatee trimmed. it does an excellent job of that), then use the mach 3 turbo.

Be careful when shaving around the adam's apple. be VERY careful. I've cut myself there and it really stung. boy I was ticked. You have to go over that area very lightly with the razor and make small, precise, and accurate passes with the razor. If you're too nervous to do it, then use an electric for shaving around that area (but shave it!! long hairs around the neck area are GROSS looking and chics DON'T dig it). On the sides, remember, one full pass upwards, rinse, full pass downwards, rinse. two passes upwards, two passes downwards, rinse.

Korn, just let your dad show you how to shave, and then once you know how to shave each area of your face, and then develop your own routine and stick to it.

Me, I first use the beard trimmer to get rid of the really thick stuff (I'm lazy. I should shave daily, but I shave like every 4th day or so, except if I've got a date in the evening: then I shave in the morning then once again an hour before I got to pick her up, and that's right after my second shower, LOL), then I shave the sides, then the upper neck, then I clean up the lower neck area (adam's apple), then recheck my face (I can do this by feel alone. a visual helps as well) for missed patches, etc. Then get rid of those. Recheck till face is shaved and all long hairs eliminated and face is smooth. Apply aftershave lotion, rub in, pat face with damp wash cloth, then pat dry.

[edit] I'm self-taught as well. I could've asked my dad for help, but I remember watching him shave from when I was little, so I basically mimic'd what I remembered, and from there refined how I shaved. I've cut myself quite a few times, but I've been shaving regularly for the past 3 years now, and the ration of cuts shaving to no cuts shaving is about 1::20 or better.[/edit]

I agree, i love my mach 3 turbo compared to my quattro... my quattro is now my back up, i tried it out, and i wasnt impressed, the mach 3 is smoother aand more comefortable, and i think i cut my self more with the quattro(and it even has anti cut guard wires on it)

An electric razor on the bum fluff you have isn't going to do anything. the same advise as most of the others wet your face with warm water and use a triple bladed razor and face cream...the direction etc you will have to learn as you go along and cuts are just part of the fun. As correctly said, a straight edge razor will cut the best but you do have to be careful as they don't have anywhere near a safety device of any sort..well they do it is called your hand, don't push hard! The other thing to do is to ensure that you clean whatever razor you use and remember that razors don't last forever...change the blades...I have ripped my face to bits when I quickly shaved and I used an old blade.....been shaving for just one of two years now so it wasn't kack handedness
