I have typed why and how I believe this numerous times.

I will give you a break down quick if your memories are that short.

Take away these programs, the bottom will not make enough to live and be subjugated with a vast difference between top and bottom.
Do nothing about this and you run into the labor problems that numerous countries have had.
Try to solve it by raising their salaries then you will have to raise the price of the goods, which cancels out the raise.
Try to solve it by lowering the upper wages, and then you will not have the people willing to do the upper.
The only way you can do it is pay the upper their fair share, have them pay more taxes, that way you can fund these programs for the lower, and the rich can still have a hirer salary.
End result, these programs benefits the upper way more then it does the lower.

Think about it this way. Back in the days of kings and peasants, what would have happened if the "taxes" were above 50%? That's what the average middle class family pays (including ALL taxes). I'm all for taxes, but in excess of 50% of what I make. That is extreme.

No facts, it is called common sense.

Those with money should pay more then those without, for those without can not afford to pay.

Cut down the budget if you want to percentage to drop, but that is something the repubs have shown they are unwilling to do.

Why should I be given more of the burden when I rely less on the government than someone who doesn't make as much as me?

By your "logic", what is my motivation to work hard if I know that not only will a higher percentage be taken from me, but also, if I chose not to work hard, then I get rewarded with other peoples hard earned money? Your system discriminates against the upper class.

I was thinking about this - the State of Michigan for example makes 6% of every good sold in the state (some exceptions, but 6%). Basically they take a good profit with very little investement in nearly every business. How the hell can they not balance hte budget

Why should a lower class work hard to only tire himself out more and still not have enough to survive.

You will work harder as an upper class for you will make more money. Take away are tax system the way it is now and you will be back in the 1800's (hence revolutions all over Europe), the poor will bare the burden of the society will the rich get richer. The poor will revolt since they have nothing to lose. Work and die, or revolt and might live, kind of an easy choice.
