I would go with the WRX, those cars can just tear it up. Although personally I wouldn't get the wagon version, but that's me.

They said not to drive camaro's in the snow, that didn't stop me. Havn't wrecked one driving in the snow yet
I'm going to go with the WRX though. Or you could get a viper, or wait for the new camaro's

better milage, its fast, AWD, and you could prolly fit just as much gear as the Exploder... although the new independent rear suspension supposedly made their road-feel way better.

Look into a Passat Wagon? heck, you might be able to order one of the Jetta wagons from Germany... those are pretty nice...

you haven't sat in the grand cherokees obviously, my roomie is 6'1" and at 250lbs he isn't a small guy and he loves the space of his grand. Plus I'm not sure what bugs you are talking about, but the drive trains are more or less the same ones they used in jeeps before chrysler got ahold of them and they are STILL some of the most durable engine/tranny combinations out there, trucks being the only compitition.

It's a jeep thing I guess, test drive one, you'll understand. Jeeps are like paintball. Everyone disses them till they actually try them, and you'll never heard about someone who didn't like a jeep once they tried it.

But like Army said, WRX's have MAD handling, it's just what type of person you are. I got my jeep cause of the mad Iowa winters with 2 ft snow drifts, 4 wheel drive, the sport stance and the torque

WRX hands down, and good choice with the wagon. It weight only around 50lbs more than the sedan, costs $500 less, and is far more usefull. I really wish they would bring the STI wagon over(and that I had the 30,000+ to pay for it)

Any SUV wasn't in the running as far as I'm concerned, and while I like the 350Z, I wouldn't own one in the NE.

[QUOTE] I could just say screw the SUV and get what I really want.

That is what you should do.

Just dont get the Explorer, cause when I see ya driving it I'll think, there goes some soccer Moms husband.

I drove a Jeep Cherokee from Albany to Detroit in post-blizzard conditions... 3 years ago i think... right after the huge new-years blizzard (we drove to Albany in it DURING the blizzard...)

Its not an experience I'd like to re-live in that thing... heck i'd rather do it in an explorer...

the quadradrive had bugs... the wrangler system works, but ew... i hate the road feel. too much work. but hey, that just might be me since i worked at a chevy dealership and a caddy dealership too. GM suvs handle way better IMO than fords or chryslers.

I am going with the Wagon.... cause I not too fond of your limitations you put on yourself in the SUV market (you should have not limited it to just that. Now if you want to debate the Toyota and Nissan and put them into the mix then we talk... and you already said you want to haul some stuff. So you yourself ruled out the sport car market (although I do love them Z's!) So the wagon is your best compromise. IF it will haul ENOUGH. I have no idea what your volume is.

There are so many other choices for hauling. That you left out. Like a Crew Cab pickup. Nissan makes a small one. Ford makes a Medium one. Those are a nice compromise between hauling and four door car comfort.

But within the limitations... the wagon looks good.

Explorer, just because its a SUV. But if you dont like the size of it, dont get the WRX, the 350Z are much nicer looking, are fast.

WOW! So many great responses! Thank you everyone. I think the WRX wagon is the clear winner. Just to get into a base explorer is pushing the pricetag limit for me. The Z would be tons of fun but insurance and RWD might hurt me (already have the 97 SS camaro and the vette for sportscar fun). So yeah, Wagon it will most likly be.

Well, atleast you went with GM for the sports cars, good choice (coughSellThemBothAndBuyAChargerCough).
I wouldn't buy a ford pickup or even SUV, GM or Dodge, or even the imports over ford. Now if you had a Jeep on that list I probably would have voted for that.
But definatly since you already have 2 sports cars and need a third to haul stuff around I would go with the wagon, Subaru makes pretty good cars.
Why are you complaining about the drive back in the snow? Of course all SUV's arn't going to be as nice of a ride when driving through the snow in 4wheel.

Im not really an import fan, but I guess anything would be better than the Ford.

                                WRX
