    How does a Jersey high school person make America bleak? By that person growing up one day and having to contribute to society somehow(or at least hope you don't suck up social security). If this is how jersey kids are gonna act when they get jobs after high school or college then Im not going anywhere near there because it could make a person who just won the lotto be depressed

                Hey now! You leave Jersey out of this!!!!!!

                Every state has kids like this. It just so happens that as NJ is one of the most affluent states in the country, more of them have computers and internet access here!

                        Jersey Rocks!!!!!

                        Year in, year out we are on of the top 3 states every year in Per capita income!

                            I watch the S&P 500. Yeah the dow reaching 10,000 makes everybody buy like ATM's now dispense free money, but what's the dow made of? A few stocks that no longer even serve as a valid indicator in today's market.

                            Oh well. I'm betting on natural gas. If demand goes up and local wells dry up, I win

                                    You are quite wrong in this assumption. The Dow Jones is the indicator of the largest companies in set fields in our economy. The list is not stagnent and does change. For instance, Wal-Mart joined it and knocked Sears out of it. Many changes to it have occured and many more will occur.

                                    As an indicator it serves it's purpose quite well. The S&P is an unmanaged compilation of the 500 largest companies by capitalization. This can be quite unreliable as it lets in lots of bubble type companies that can artificially drag it down when the bubble breaks.

                                        Oh no. I can think of far worse states...Arkansas, Delaware (Pet peeve of mine, I dispise this state), New York (say hello to Sen. Clinton for me), Taxachussets, Kalifornia ( ), and Alabama (CB lives there, bringing down the whole state ).

                                                Its ok deadeye, not everyone can live in the wide open ranges of Texas Some people just aren't as blessed as others and have to make due in cramped crapholes like Jersey, New York and most of the Eastern seaboard.

                                                    No index is perfect, but statistically 500 stocks make a better tip than 30. I wasn't really trying to disagree with anybody. Every index serves its purpose. I was just throwing in my two cents.
