We used to shoot the mini 14's when they first came out in .223. What a nice tack driver that was. Now they call them "assualt rifles" here in New jersey, and getting caught with one will surely have you looking down the barrel of a .40 Troop.

My dad currently ownes 2 AR-15's (civilian model colts), and are perfectly legal becouse he bought them before that law was passed. I believe the law is that you cannot own a semi-auto rifle with a pistol grip..Originally posted by SatansGun

I would definitly get the Model 700, in .308. It was the same gun Hathcock took 300+ VC's durring veitnam

Don't ignore that 788 - that is a fine rifle, might need a bit of tuning but capable of very good accuracy.Originally posted by SatansGun

As far as the .308 vs. .223, it depends on your budget and shooting style. I can go through hundreds of rounds in a day, and believe me a .308 will punish your shoulder and your wallet at that rate. If you don't reload, the .223 is the hands down best choice.Comment

i was looking at M1As but they are like 1300 for a new one that is cali legal but it sucks how we cant get ar-15s and what not anymore and how for semis you can only have like 10 rd mags or it might be not coming out of the stock i was looking at the mini 30 because it is 690-780 or so and i got the 788 and i wanted to get 308 semi before a blot if i get the mini 30 ill prob get 700 in like june or so. i used to reload but lost some of my stuff so im thinking of buying new reloading stuff so i could reload my 303 for my enfield and the 308s if i get it. no if i could only justify(sp) the spending of this money on a emag or something. lol

He did have 93 confirmed, but he made a statement once saying he killed a total of 300+. Im looking at it right now on my book coverOriginally posted by Army
Gunny Hathcock had only 98 confirmed. He did help send a few more to neverland, by way of judicious use of a radio call to a local artillery battery....but they don't count in sniper scores.
