    I've lost nearly 40 pounds!!!

Well this summer I got up to 310, and I felt horrible about myself so I started excercising at least an hour a night everynight for the last month of summer. Then when I got to school and met my ex-gf, I would go pretty much all day without eating much of anything(mabe a pop tart or something for lunch, and for breakfast a bowl of cerial) and we would walk at least 3 miles everyday, then I would walk another mile home. Then recently about 2 weeks ago, I've been walking my dogs at least 3-4 miles a day, and when i mean walk i mean walking as fast as I can without running, and occasionaly jogging. Been lifting some weights, doing pushups, crunches, dancing around making myself look stupid, but working up a sweat. I haven't been starving myself, I just don't have the cravings to eat like I used to, so I only eat when I'm at the point of nausia from not eating. But when I get home and theres food I eat and all, just not that much. And ya, I weighed myself last night at my uncles house and I was down to just above 270. My goal right now is around 220. So I still got a long way to go. Oh I'm only about 5'8 to let you know. Just felt like sharing in case anyone cares, scince I've asked for diet and excercise tips on here before.

That's awesome! Keep active, don't stop. 40lbs is a lot! And I thought it was cool that I lost 20lbs when I got sick. With all the activity though, make sure you are eating healthy foods. When on a diet, you should still feed yourself all the important parts of a meal, protein, some carbs, fruits, salads, and the occasional sugary treat. Sugar and sweets may be what you're trying to avoid, but they are still a small part of the appropriate diet.

Thats awesome dude! I have been rooting for my mom she is trying to lose some weight she has lost 30 pounds already. Keep it up man!

Some of my friends that play football with me all just drink vitamen shackes in the morning and don't eat lunch and wait till they get home for dinner to eat again. It seems to work great for them. I just watch what I eat and I stay slim and I work out like once a week hehe. I'm 5'11 150 and I'm trying to gain more weight of muscle.

                      congrats man,
i know how hard it is to loose weight as i have always had a problem with mine since i was about 13.i decided to do something about it though a few years ago and i lost 160 pounds! i use to weigh about 360 pounds but i got down to 200 pounds.it took a long time of eating right and lots of walking.i started going to the gym a while back and doing some power lifting ,i went from weighing 215 pounds to 240 pounds.i know some of it is muscle but i also know i have been eating more lately.i have decided to loose the weight i have gained and start eating and exercising right again.( it will help with my new carreer,i have just joined the army ).
anyways , keep up the great work,i hope you loose all the weight you want to .

p.s. there is also an added bonus to loosing weight that i have found,,,,,theres a whole lot less of me to hit on the paintball field !!

Congratulations on losing the weight but I have to chime in here. You lost weight becaues of caloric restriction (which is great that you shrunk the fat cells) but you are going about it the wrong way! You have to EAT to lose weight. Now I know that your thinking up till now is that you dont have to eat, but starving yourself is NO way to utilize the fat in your body as energy! If you start lifting weights regularly then you are going to put the fat right back on and you will feel like you have no energy. PLEASE people do not starve yourselves! The minute you feel hungry (or in your case to the point of NAUSIA!) the first thing you eat is going to be utilized as FAT deposites. You have to realize, the human body thinks you are in a time of famine and will do whatever it can to store fat! I guarentee you would have lost even more weight had you eaten 5 or 6 small meals a day combined with the excercise you have been doing. Don't get me wrong, I am not slamming you at ALL, I think its great what you have done! I am just throwing some tips your way so that you do it in a healthy, manageable way that you can live with the rest of your life.

PLEASE stop starving yourself like that. You will feel better. Think of your body as a furnace. You have to fuel that furnace all day with 5 or 6 small balanced meals. Start out the day with a meal that has moderate protien and good quick carbs and simple sugars. Then eat every 3 hours after. Fueling the furnace. think of having your 3 meals a day, breakfast, lunch, dinner, and slip 2 snacks in between. The snacks should be fruit choices paired with a simple protien/carb choice like yogurt or cottage cheese, or could be a protien bar like a Lean Mass or Tri-o-plex bar.

Whatever you do, you have to make a choice that is something you can LIVE with. But dear god stop starving yourself like that. What your doing now is setting yourself up for failure. I want to see you keep going on the track you have already and reach that goal!

Edit: Slim Fast bars SUCK. They are glorified candy bars and loaded with sugar. Want to lose weight? STOP EATING THEM! Detoure, Oneway, U-turn bars, all crap loaded with sugar. Tri-0-plex bars are the best bars out there that I have found recently. For high protien bars, try Lean Mass, Lean Fuel, or the Myoplex Deluxe bars. And drink lots of water when upping your protien intake. Nitrates are left behind in the kidneys as a biproduct of the protien sythesis and can damage them if you do not drink enough H2O.
