well..i traveled wayyyy too far out..ran out of energy to hyperspace jump..and NO ships are coming anywhere near me..i visited the planet in the zone so it saved there..wtf do i do now

. It's HUGELY successful. THe game has two previous and equally successful precessessors -> Escape Velocity: Override, and Escape Velocity (classic). EVC (Escape Velocity classic) came out in 1997 or 1998 (can't remember), as a modular, easy-to-play, deeply involving and addictive shareware mac-only game. It quickly developed a HUGE cult-like following of players and modders always looking for creating new items, new worlds, new missions, new EVERYTHING. The game is basically a brilliantly designed real time role-playing free-roam space adventure/action/combat game.
