Sam, FYI, all the money for a boyscout troop comes through dues (you have to pay once a year), my troop has a small fee for campouts ($15 usually), and we do fundraisers (we sell bar-b-q at the fourth of july parade and sell popcorn in the fall). I'm pretty sure we get no money at all from outside sorces.

The City of San Diego caved for a couple of political reasons.

1. They actively dislike the Boy Scouts. They are pissed that the Boy Scouts would dare to not allow homosexuals to be scout masters.

2. They didn't want to be liable for the massive legal fees if they lost to the ACLU.

This now opens up a huge pandoras box full of troubel for any local government that has a legal agreement with the Boy Scouts.

And the wacko judge that handed down this ruling is outright INSANE.

He said it violated the Church and State agreement in the Constitution.

The supreme court better handle this. The Boy Scouts CANNOT be denied entrance to public places. All of us Boy Scouts and Scouters are U.S. citizens, and thus cannot be denied into a public place. Also, the ACLU has NO legal ground since their reason for hating BSA was the result of a ruling by the Supreme Court that said the BSA had the legal right to regulate itself as it saw fit. BSA promotes family values, and thus they regulate themselves the way they do. It's not like the BSA is a public organization that is government funded. Also, you don't HAVE to join BSA, so how is the ACLU presenting this? There's no way they can if their case goes under scrutiny.

This ruling better be shot down, as it violates Equal Rights.

As of now till that ruling is overturned, I'll never step foot in San Diego if I don't have to. I'd hate to be able to go into a park that I couldn't go if I was wearing my Scout Uniform.

Its a public facility, Boy Scouts are a member of the public. If your ignorant white man hating clubs can assemble on public property to protest things they do not have the mental power to understand, why can't the boy scouts assemble to cook some camp fire food and learn about the local flora.

A group that discriminates against members of the public should have to pay to use public facilities, since they're preventing others from using them during the time they are there. They shouldn't be banned, just charged for the use.

That's taking it to an extreme obviously. Discriminating against groups of people based on race, gender or sexual orientation is one thing. Discriminating against individuals because they are troublemakers or have killed a nun is something else entirely. And unfortunately, there's no way you can guarantee anything is enforced equally.

Horsecrap. They are, just like any other private organisation, allowed the same enjoyment under the law as ANY other group.

The fact that they uphold family values and keep the Faith with God, is NOT grounds to be discriminated against. No matter what the commie libs in this country would like.

The Boy Scouts are NOT the problem here. In fact they are one of the solutions in this country and for a bunch of Socialist loving bastards to come along and try to underhandedly destroy them like this is the HEIGHT of irresponsibility.

If anything the Boys Scouts should be enjoying the fruits of being Constitutionally protected here under the Freedom of Association rights.

I'll tell you this right now, the ACLU scares me a hell of a lot more than Al Qaeda does.

At least Al Qaeda is up front and honest about trying to destroy this country and what it stands for. The ACLU is nothing more than a bunch of underhanded liberal dirtbags, that need to have the light of Truth and Liberty shone upon them until their collective retinas melt.
