When do you fill your fuel tank?

I wait until the needle hits E... and wait a bit. How about you?

Always at 250 miles on the trip meter (the odometer you can reset).

Leaves just under 3 gallons in the tank as I pull into the gas station.

In my Jeep I would do it when the needle just passed "empty", or whenever I had money.

On my Rodeo now though, I don't know. I haven't had to put gas in it yet(I got it monday).

1/4 tank. Almost always. In my truck running around town (not trip mileage) thats about 450 miles. On a trip its 550 or so. Have gone 600 miles before filling though.

With most Gas cars should not be let go much lower. Most of the newer ones have the fuel pump (at least one of them if there are two) IN the tank and the gas acts as a lubricant and coolant. You should keep it immersed in enough fuel to keep it cool and lubed. So getting low all the time risks stressing your in tanks fuel pump. Thats the hardest one to replace too. So try and do it when its like 1/4 tank or so. Its a habit you need to get into.

Sure, but I never intended to keep this thing past the warranty.

Usually around 1/4 of a tank. Gives me a few days to fill the tank without needing to worry about running out.

Ha, I just needed something to get me through college, and now that is done. Regardless, I took very good care of it. I didn't know about the pump issue. Gonna trade it in after I sign the E-Docs.

usually when the orange light comes on or gets really close to it, but lately with the unpredictable snow amounts i try to fill it up before a snow storm or when temps starting getting to below 0 windchill.

Hmmm.... depends on the car and how I am driving. If I am road tripping say over to my moms place in Santa Barbara ... at about quarter tank... although when I do the Santa Barbara run I normaly fill at Palmdale which is half a tank. Here in town is a different story.. I try to fill it when the light goes on.. but that dosnt always work out... lol... recently I put 15.02 galons in a 15 gallon tank

BTW... Fuel injected cars don't like to be run out of gas.... air can get trapped in the system and the injectors realy dont like the presure spikes that can be a result of that.

I fill mine up every Friday for the following week and the tank is usually close to empty. I drive an hour to and from work so i use a lot of gas. If i'm going to Wesley's, I'll fill it up no matter where it's at cause I have a 5 hrs (1 way) trip ahead of me and I do that ever other week. Dang that man needs to move here.

Miscue, my warranty ran out before I had the car a year due to the 5 hrs/300 mile trips to Wesley.
