Curious, who still uses a 56k?

It just occured to me that I havn't seen anyone using a 56k in a good long while. Just wondering how many are still in the stone age. :)

i think hes talking about the speed of the wireless part of his "internet system" all of the wireless pieces of the system talk to eachother at 11 mb. per second but that kind of speed is never obtained by cable internet, and i think the highestest ive seen cable advertised for is 5 mbs. but that speed again is rarely if ever actually obtainted.

I use 56k. It's perfectly fine for what I use my 5 year old p2-300 for. (posting on pball forums)

Yea, we have DirecTV. We would get that DirecWay or w/e but it's hella expesive and theres all these download(bandwith) limits and stuff. Seems like too much of a hassle for me, lol.

The thing that pisses me of though is that theres cable about a mile or so up the road(I think, might be more like 3 or 4, but still), and they won't get off their lazy ases and run it down here. They say thee isn't enough demand or something like that...

But if they run cable out here, then they will prolly pave the roads, and that would suck. And there is talk of putting up a housing development literally right behind my house, and that would royally sck, cause we couldn't shoot guns or have fires or detonate explosives or ride dirtbikes at night, etc. etc. etc.

I still use 56K because my parents still think internet is a luxury item and really isn't necessary, so upgraded internet isn't worth it to them. I am counting the days until college.
