Well, every car is a bit different. I'm more inclined to aim it toward the dome light and then move it from there, rather than right at the head. I don't pay attention so much to where the tweeter is pointing, as to where the sound stage is... I wouldn't have a use for a laser-pointer. When the vocals are coming from the windshield, it's pointed right. But that's part of the difficult part... you have to go through a lot of sample tracks and come to a compromise.

no.. get a ready made sealed box that is the correct cubic feet for your speaker.

If you want a ported box, you should build it or get it built to match your sub. Different boxes have ports tuned to different frequencies, and you want your box tuning to match or be slightly lower than the resonant frequency of the sub.

Ready made sealed might be the way to go for you. Unless you can calculate the frequency that the box is ported to. If you want to build your own ported box, I can probably get plans much cheaper than $20 ($10ish?). I'll have to talk with him. But trust me when I say that if you buy a box from him, you will be a very, very happy person.

You're talking about tweet mounted in kicks aren't you? I use the laser pointer for tweets mounted above the dash in the A pillars.

Cool though, I'll try the dome light deal if I need kicks.

Yeah, sorry. I was talking about two different things.

A-pillars... bleach! Hehe.

Yeah, check out aiming it there for starters and play with it from there. But, you can get good results pointing it in all sorts of directions. Each car is its own puzzle.

Well... the cap isn't for fixing an electrical problem. And now that I think of it, I believe I understand the confusion with somethings I've said. I never proposed it as a way to hide electrical problems, because it doesn't work that way.

So absolutely, you don't use one to try to 'fix' your alternator/battery situation... with it not having enough power. The point of it is, it can discharge almost instantaneously, where a battery cannot respond that fast. It prevents a gap between when your amp wants to pull a lot of power, and the time it takes for the battery to respond. So yeah, if you have a weak alternator or whatever, it doesn't fix that. It's built for fast discharge, for a short period of time.

Its ability to improve the response time of your electrical system... is what results in keeping your headlights from dimming as bad.

So I hope you can see why I recommend a cap, regardless of your alternator/battery situation.
