www.cyberpowerinc.com if you're not building it yourself.

    www.newegg.com if you are.

cyberpower is extremely good, i've convinced about 5 people to get computers from them (not including myself), and they've all been really pleased.

a note about dell: while they try to be the most user-friendly computer makers, here at college, literally every computer i've had to fix has been a dell. and more often than not, i've run into problems because of dell's *** backwards ways of setting up their computers. and dells aren't cheaper than cyberpower computers, either (and dell's are far less customizable).

i dont think alien ware is worth it but if you have the money to through around its your choice... oh and if it is only for gaming why not get a desktop system much more customizable better screen and most importantly cheaper
Last week i thought i was indecisive, but now im not sure anymore...

uh this is like super high end. you won't have problems playing anything. but again, the price ain't right. alienware is WAY overpriced. go build the same computer at www.cyberpowerinc.com and see what you get.

Can someone explain the loan to me? If it says I'll pay $9 a month for 60 months will I actually be paying $9 a month for 60 months or will it go up?

No laptop will be comparable to the same price desktop for any task. Not that this fits into you price range but this is a cool computer Super Fast Computers

Edit $9*60=$540 That does not include intrest so that would have to be a cheap computer or a baloon payment or 2.

I don't mean for a computer, just the loan.

Do they figure in interest into that number?

I'd be willing to bet the price of the machine i could build that for $2000. $1500 if I had a couple months to shop the best deals on all parts. Alienware is a rip-off.

I was thinking about getting a loan for a 40GB iPod, just not sure how that stuff works and don't want the monthly payments to jump on me.

yea, my school has been giving laptops to every grade level (9-12) for 5 years now. the seniors have REALLY old laptops... the 200mhz 32 mb of ram old. lol. freshman have the new ibm with 2 ghz and 300+ram. its adds an extra 800 on the already 7200 dollar tuition. it makes taking notes and all that stuff so much easier.

i want a laptop. i take the one i have right now everywhere: road trips, thanksgiving trips, etc. i have a 1ghz celeron with 300+ram and a 16m vidcard that actually runs dod, cs, and gtavc pretty well. the problem i have with it is that it has a 12gig harddrive, it will be severly outdated in 2006 (grad year), and its an all around pos. i need a laptop that is upgradeable (thats why i was looking at alienware), and can play games pretty well. hell, if my 1ghz celeron can run dod at 800x600 with no lag or anything like that, a 2.8ghz p4 with 500+ram will be perfect for me. im not lookin for those huge complete desktops. i need something thats upgradable and is quality.

is there any more suggestions other than alienware?
Yummy yummy yummy, I've got fun in my tummy.

                            carnifex- from the site,

Financing for qualified U.S. residents from MBNA America Bank, N.A. Monthly payment is an estimate, based on a total purchase price of $799.00 (not including shipping/handling and taxes), a repayment term of 60 months and a 9.99% Annual Percentage Rate (APR). Your APR may be higher.

MBNA will set your APR between 9.99% and 26.99% based on your creditworthiness. The APR is not guaranteed and may change. Your repayment term and payment amount are estimates which may change if, for example; MBNA changes your APR, you make late or partial payments, MBNA assesses fees, or you take additional advances. There is a 5% transaction fee on each advance (fee: min. $15, max. $99), which does not apply to purchases billed by Apple directly to your account.

Seriously though, does it just mean the monthly price will go up if I miss payments?

ive made my decision, well sorta

im just gonna wait until i get a job, and then ill see how much money i have coming in, and ill decide from there. i still have to convince my parents to pay the monthly fee while i pay them cash every month. that may be hard, considering my parents are rich, but cheap as hell.

maybe ill just dump some more money into paintball
