I just got an XBox a month ago, and after a few weeks it started making clicking and wirring sounds, and the video would start skipping and give disk read errors. It did it a little bit at first, and I thought "ok, the xbox is loud, no problem", but the problem got steadily worse. It feels like running a computer game on a system that doesn't quite meet the requirements.
After reading up on it, I found I have the "infamous" Thompson drive, and it often dies after 1 to 2 years. I guess mine one of the worse ones.
I contacted XBox support, and am going to be sending it in to be fixed. For those who know anything about this problem, or the Xbox, is it going to be coming back with a newer drive (samsung?), or another Thompson? Anyone else have this problem?

thats when you get the games where 8 year olds have crapped on, keyed, and pissed on.
