ABC video about myths of Gun Crime

I guess this aired last year, but i obviously missed it. Good to see some straight thinking from someone in the media.

That is a really good clip.

It hits all the points for the pro-gun crowd (which I believe very strongly in).

Criminals will always have guns. We have 20,000 gun laws on the books right now. We can live in a society where only criminals have guns, or we can live in a society where people can protect themselves.

I just don't like the way he said that "guns are bad" is a myth. He should have said that "gun control" is a myth. Because you can't say that guns are good, all his arguments that guns are good revolve around you being able to protect yourself from other people with guns. So overall, Guns creat all the problems that pro gun people are saying they need to protect themselves from, and I think it's just stupid to try to solve a problem with the same thing that is causing it.

Guns are used 3 times more often defensively then to commit a crime!

CDC shows that only 50 children die each year from accidental handgun shootings in their home!

50 kids dieing is ALOT of kids. How can you think that that is a fact that supports your case?

And cars are the backbone of our transportation system and are designed to help us move around, acidents happen, as with everything, and people end up dead.

Guns are ment kill, when a gun has killed someone it has done what it was built to do, when a car kills someone, someone has made a mistake.

50 accidents where children playing with guns shoot themselves or playmate when considered in the big picture is statistically a non event! More children die in their bathubs every year!

alcohol kills more than guns. Shouldn't we ban alcohol. It serves no purpose. It only does harm to the body.

50 kids being accidentally killed is horrible. The good far outweighs the bad. I am not worried about my kid. She know how treat guns.

Gun laws exist for the same reason drug laws exist. It feels "right". Guns are being used in crime, lets make it harder to get a gun! Drugs kill people, lets make it harder to get drugs! (I'm not turning this into a drug thread, it just parallels perfectly with how I view the world).

Its a common problem with the left. They impliment laws that "feel" right, but simply do not work, or make the problem worse.

50 kids dieing is not an Non even you bastard, Deaths like that are TOTALY preventable, if you hadn't bought the gun they would not have died, and seeing as you don't need a gun to go about your dayly lives,(unless your day includes killing people every day), it is totaly useless to have a gun. All it can do is harm.

Hmmm. I think I said statisically, not morally pea-brain. Out of 300 million Americans, 50 children die in accidental home shootings. Well if gun locks were in place, it could be cut further.

Did you watch the link? Guns are use 3 times more in self defense then in a crime. Not every criminal carries a gun, but many can overpower you other ways. Chew on that fool. A 95 pound woman with a pistol can defend herself from a 300 lb rapistwith a knife. The gun is the equalizer. There is a saying from the old west," God did not make all men equal, Samuel Colt did!"

Yes last year we saw a spurned wife drive over her husband multiple times in front of a hotel. It was captured on tape and on the news a million times. Her Mercedes really splatted him. Tragic accident?

The jury didn't think so!
