"The Passion of the Christ"....who's seein it???

I can't wait to see it but it will prolly take me a week or 2 cause I'm anti-social. Don't like crowds. Even Billy Graham says its awesome. Not in those words.

Got tickets to go see it in a week.

Gibon's a good guy, it'll be good (especially since he's Catholic, like me! ).

dansim...don't believe religion. Religion is from men. Research it for yourself.

                I'm going to see it.

While I have no religion, stories from all religions interest me greatly.

Will see it in a week or two, the first few days are going to be insane. It's not too much fun being packed into a theater for a new release, too many annoying people making comments/noise

Trust me...from everything I've heard...nobody is making a peep during this movie. Most reports of early screenings have said that you could hear a pin drop after the close.

                    Anyway:

I'll be seeing it tonight. And again Sunday with my Church. And again next Thursday.

Initial reactions to the reviews I'm seeing of it: A good portion of our media just "doesn't get it" with this movie. They focus on the violence, and this (non)issue of Anti-Semitism. The liberal media is utterly ignoring what Mr. Gibson said about Anti-semitism being against his faith, and they're ignoring what the rest of us Believers are saying as well. Typical.

This is not just a film. It is history. This event happened...and it happened for a reason. It has nothing to do with just what the Jews did to Jesus. It has nothing to do just with what the Romans did to Jesus.

It has to do with what we ALL did to Jesus. It is the story of sacrifice, forgiveness of sin, and ultimately: Redemption.

If you just "don't get it", I'd suggest talking with a mature Christian person that understands the entire message of the Good News of Jesus the Christ. (For those of you wondering: Christ means: Anointed One. In Aramaic it would be: Messiah.)

Anyway...I highly encourage all to go and see it. Whether tonight, or later when the crowds die down a bit... And again, if you don't get the message or the point of the movie, ask someone that you know is a solid Believer. (Trust me, there's plenty of wackos out there.)

I went last night to the opening show (7pm). Was pretty gory. A very moving piece, no more anti-semitic than the bio.

Contrary to what was said above, I'd argue you don't need to be religious at all to appreciate this movie. I'm agnostic and I'm still looking forward to seeing it.

                            i saw it last night

                            wow....

i'm impressed on the way everything in the film is presented. very real, very intense, enthralling, draws you in, and then makes you want to close your eyes and make it all go away.

                            wow....

Interesting comments brijohnx...very interesting. Insightful commentary. MANY people have wished that "it would all just go away." Bibles have been burned...Christians have been thrown to the beasts, Christians in our country today are belittled and made fun of...all to make the message of the Good News of Jesus's sacrifice "go away."

THe message holds people accountable to God for their sin. And let's face it, that just makes us plain uncomfortable.
