I'm with shartley. Hype. I'm sure people have strokes and heart attacks in theaters at other times as well.

      I believe it was coincidence.

its not that i don't believe he could afford it, its just that he went over hollywoods head and made a movie that will gross probably over 100 mil in the first weekend and none of that money will go to hollywood.

Um. Can I ask why it should? Hollywood isn't Mel's boss.

No, he didn't go 'over Hollywoods' head.' Mel Gibson went to Hollywood, and Hollywood said, "You want us to front $30 million for a concept/art house foreign film, featuring no-name actors, all speaking in Aramaic and Latin, which will open over the pre-Easter Oscar season when absolutely nobody is going to movies, and your screenplay is based on the Bible?"

            ... laughter.

Of course, now Harvy Weinstein is probably yelling at his secretary, "Get me a Jesus picture!!!!"

Remember, a bunch of folks died watching saving Prive Ryan. And no small number of WWII verterns ended up back in various kinds of therapy after seeing it.

I think the deaths were coincidental, and the news just brought it up to tie into the therapy angle.

Remember one thing about the Passion. It is bringing in basically a whole new audience of people to the movie theatre. Meaning, a that a lot of ultra religious eighty year old grandmothers are going to the movies for the first time in decades. In other words, a crowd of people that isn't normally in the theatre and is typically the most susecptible to injury is now in the theatre. Its probably not so much the movie that's the issue here, its the new (older) audience.
Or better yet, why don't you kill yourself. No, really, die. Drop dead, don't leave a note, in fact burn your house while your little ego is stuck in a bench vice so that you'll also incenerate yourslef and everything you own with it. Because that's all you're worth. You're not even wirh thte time it'll take for the house to burn down, so just kill yourself. You're a waste of space. You are nothing, you always will be nothing. Don't leave a note, you're not worth the ink. - Tyger

So basically you are saying that old people drop dead all the time.

I was thinking it was a really stale Ju-Ju Bee that did it. Think about the that headline

"Woman killed by Ju-Ju Bee at theather...."

I can see temples around the country saying they had nothing to do with this womans death.

                        LOL
