Yeah, sort of like my 94 Crown Vic She's a good car though, but you burn half the tank beating someone off the line. And don't even ask about how she takes corners, lol

Thanks for all the suggestions guys!

Pontiac absolutely, totally and completely, ruined one of my favorite cars of all time. When I hear GTO I was thinking, **** yeah, some classic muscle. 1972 GTO But not a freaking new GTO which is an australian designed Grand Am chassis w/ a big motor in it. It looks stupid and is just a freaking lame *** car w/ a big motor that has the name of one of the greatest muscle cars of all time. [/rant]

I'd get the mini. The horsepower might not be that great but they make every corner their cell mate. They also look cool. I don't really think they look like chick cars, maybe cause they're small but for 25k you can get it full loaded and it's really classy on the inside and out.

My mom knows ALOT more about it than I do. I'll get info from her tomarrow and let ya know. There is a forum for the Dallas Fort Worth metroplex, www.metroplexmini.com. (It might be .org)

They can help you out no matter where you are from.

i know you said mini and pontiac.... but have you ever considered a mazda rx8? Its just another option in the variable sea, but its a strong option to consider. With its renisis engine putting out 238hp out of a 2 cylendar rotary engine, its a beast to behold.

lets look at it this way. The rotary engine has a triangular shaped rotor in it. each revolution, the rotor fires 3 times, thus teamed up with another, you get 6 fires, out of 2 cylendars. All in an extremely small, light, and fast package. Now, lets look at a v12 setup. Each rotation, you get 6 fires, but you have a much larger and heavier setup.

The rx8 is a beast on the curves, it climbs and turns like a beast prowling the terrain. Yes it may seem like an over exxageration, but i am using the best analogies i can think of, mainly because i cannot compare the rx8 to any thing i have ever ridden in.

The rx8 is styled nicely, and priced relatively well for what you get. Also, all of the problems that were seen in the rx7 and the models before that have been cured. The engine and the rest of the car, have been reworked for optimum performance.

This car is amazing to say the least, i personally have fallen inlove with it, and once my dad is over his midlife chrisis, i have a feeling i will be purchasing it from him.

above all, this car is really light too, it handles amazingly, and has the power you want. It accelerates so damn fast and nicely, its amazing. you can ask lord1234, that on the mass turnpike, we got it up to 100, and we were tac'ing at only 5000 rpms... which, to most cars seems like alot, but on the rx8 the redline is 9000.

Just, before you make up your mind, test drive one. you will not be dissapointed.

to qoute my father " I guess i lost all bargining power when i ejaculated in my seat during the testdrive"

TRUST ME. Just test drive one before you make your final decision, i promise you you will not be dissapointed.

*one more edit* and if your talking NEW GTO.. ala holden.. then you might want to look at some austrialian reviews, as they have a history of getting beat by japanese cars like the WRX STi.
FWD cars tend to understeer when you go around corners on pavement. Now on dirt tracks when you are rallying some people prefer FWD to 4WD. On Pavement RWD will be more fun, because of the oversteering you can use. Also I can tell you have never driven a 350z or an S2000, so your opinion doesn't really matter. I have only sat in an S2000 and let me tell you it fits like a glove, maybe when I get out of college I will pick on up. BTW I have driven a WRX quite a bit and they are pretty sweet, I couldn't imagine how much fun an STI would be.

get the mini, people think just cus it's engine is small its slow, thats wrong, the car is so small, compact, and lite that it is crazy. the handeling is awesome, plus you can fit honda engines in them, if you put a civic engine in there that has a little done to it they fly, trust me.

The STi is in a whole diffrent leauge than the WRX. It is absolutely insane. It makes more tourqe a few hundred RPM's off idle than the S2000 does peak.

When you drive it it kicks you in the pants and keeps pulling. When the boost hits watch out you get 300lb/ft from 2500 rpms to redline.

The best I can describe it is it pulls and feels just like a large V8.

Should've put "other" in the list, lol.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys. I'll be including the WRX, the RX8, and the STi in my choices and looking into what other people have done with these cars. Right now though, the Mini's most likely my first choice only in regards to fuel economy, but that may change.

                    Thanks Again!

WRX STi or Lotus Elise. The Elise isn't out over here yet, but should be out soon. They are taking preorders on them, and if I were you, I'd get that. They are AWESOME, but a bit pricey. You can preorder here

Mazda RX8... LOL sorry, had to ptu this hear. I just love the theory of a rotary engine, as long as the thing is spooled up (learn to drive with your right foot on teh floor) you'll get awesome power from the thing, they just will drive differently than teh torquey (is that a word?) engines that many people are used to.

You can have both rally and power...

The Subaru WRX STI is not just inspired but BASED OFF the World Rally Championship Car. It basicly a street legal rally car.

Except the Consumer version has a bigger engine and no turbo restriction

Also I can tell you have never driven a 350z or an S2000, so your opinion doesn't really matter.

right......... and how can you tell this? Because my claim violated their cool factor?

Well I have driven them both actually and I find the 350z to feel overly assorized and plastic. Hell just crawl under the front bumper.. there is only plastic sticking out past the tires. To me it felt too underpowered, fake, and posh to be considered a Z. A Z should be the old fast and sparse rockets that the original 240s were. Ever further model killed them making them more old-man oriented.

Testing the S2000 on highway onramps and straighaways was great... till we came to an area off the highway with 3 lights. The car makes all its power from Revs... so you either rev real high at teh light.. or deal with a major lack of torque in stop and go traffic.

I live in a town that has like 15 stop lights on the main road from one end to the other. I would go crazy having all that power and no way to use it. And I know I am not allow, a buy a few blocks from me had one.. kept it for the summer and got sick of it and sold it.

I never said it sucked totally.. i just claim it sucks when you can't rev it so high.

Seriously the new Maxima is just about as fast as the 350z... I uses the same engine... albeit slightly detuned.

The s2000 is a torqueless wonder sure its kinda fun when you rev it up but it gets abnoxious and annoying after a while.

Additionally you cant really put any cheap power adders in it... Its basicly stuck where it is.

Factory Turbo cars are a rare breed and provide the most bang for your buck if you can find one you like.

one of my favorites... no joke 1250 horsepower on the stock engine.
