Here is my problem. The Spanish caved. The Popular Party was ahead in the polls. Attack. Socialist Party wins. What message does this send to the Terrorists? If you want to scare people into running away, attack during an election. This is the same response that emboldened Al Queda to plot 9-11 after we did nothing in response to the embassy bombings.

Let's see what happens with the next major elections in Europe!

"Funny the people that disagreed with those beliefs were considered liberals."

Not by any stretch of the imagination. Popular misconception, propogated by liberals in search of someone to identify with, other than terrorists and the likes of Pol-pot, Stalin, Mao, and Hitler.

Its a tragedy along with 9/11. So, the big question now is: How are we supposed to respond? Another operation? A totally radical new approach? Send hippies over there and try to talk to Al Queda?
*Imagine a big flashy creative sig pic that either involves a cartoon, paintball player, some stupid internet movement or symbol with my name creatively tied into it because I'm too lazy to make one and if you don't like it, get over it!*

ya killing terrorists generally weakens the group...

            Appeasement usually vindicates thier actions.

IMHO what spain is doing is wrong... They may prevent an immediate threat but it will only embolden terrorists and tell them they are effective.
Did you hear about the new european weapons contracts? France is going to make the wooden sticks Spain making the little white flags

I only saw like a 3 second clip on CNN, but I could have sworn I heard the reporter say something along the lines that they WERE protesting the terrorists... I'm probably wrong... I always am (sigh...)

Isn't there a major election in the US coming up soon? Or would the terrorists leave us alone since it seems that Kerry MIGHT be a little softer then Bush on them? If they attack us now, I think Bush would get reelected pretty easily...

I don't think the terrorists are dumb enough to try that move here. After all the US is full of Cowboys . Our mentality is more of a hit them back hard then run away.

Another attack only helps Bush's chances. Anyway I'd rather see no more attacks then try to prove it either way!

There has always been a great misconception that Americans are frightened by a show of force. It generally just pisses us off. Just ask the residents of Hiroshima, Kabul, Bahgdad, and Berlin. More pain now in exchange for less pain later.

Although in countires largely populated by the weak willed, the ignorant, and the childish, appeasment is a popular option. Less pain now in exchange for more pain later.

I wouldn't call all of them liberals like you would call someone a liberal today. Try taking a history class or readign a book.

Also you said it was a misconception but you said nothing else, care to back it up for once?

Yeah, because baghdad is loving the United States now aren't they? Oh wait, no.

Hiroshima? Hiroshima?!?! Thats just mind blowing.

I ment my country's pain. We sacrifice now and take the loss up front. We do not appease and face a greater loss later. The people I mentioned have felt the effects of attacking the American people, and then recieving swift retribution.
