movie ticket prices go up AND we now have to sit through advertisements?!

i dunno about you but it really pisses me off that i have to pay a good 3 dollars more to go see a movie, and then i have to sit through 10 minutes of commercial advertising. advertisements mean the theatre is getting paid, and increased movie ticket prices mean the theatre is getting paid even more. what's the deal!? if we have to pay so much to go see a movie, why should we have to sit through 10+ minutes of crappy commercials!?

Crappy commercials? Most are previews for other movies, and I don't mind watching them. What do you pay for a ticket?

pyro- i love previews. but theatres have started putting commercials on before the previews for a good 10 minutes. like coke commercials, cell phone commercials, even PERFUME.

paint- $5.75 for matinee, $8.75 for evenings

Going to the movies is turning into a mini vacation.

$10 at the snack bar and $5 and up for a ticket. That times 4 (me and 3 kids) is nuts.

When I was in high school, me and my date would go to dinner and then a movie, at these prices today, i'd be lucky to get a hamburger for dinner.

Do you huys get those god damn commercials about the Pirating? I mean if you're showing a 2 minute commercial about how you shouldn't download movies to an audience that just paid 9 dollars to get into a movie, then you're preaching to the wrong crowd.

Just remember those commercials are there to help keep the Theatres in business. The movie distributors take 1/2 of the ticket price. Some independent theatres have to do it to survive. Heck anyone remember the old 2nd run theatres that charged $1.00. Even they are $5.00 now!

                              Yeah...

This has been going on for a while now. It is really irritating. Luckily, it is still insanely cheap for me to see a movie. (5 bucks, any time.) I guess I can't really complain.
