I dont care that he is spending more money on it but i think the public has the right to know that he plans to do so.
Bush does it again....

It is not the government's job to pump pills into people so they can put off expiring for one more day. If you couldn't think far enough ahead to provide for your own future, or at least make enough friends during your life that they will keep you alive, you deserve what you get.

But Deadeye, those programs are supposed to be free.
I think everyone in America should have a house, a decent car, a full cabinet of food, enough money to support a hobby, perfect physical and mental healthcare....
There is this thing called resources, resources we manage with money... and there is not enough to do this
Frankly, we're as likely to get that as I am a professional paintball contract adn two playboy centerfolds to share my bed

^ I swear to god... what the hell is your problem with all of our government programs?
That is an absolute lie and you should be ashamed. Don't type BS to make your point better. He said medicare shouldn't exist, not all seniors should die in cardboard boxes in allys....and now you dont even think our senior citizens should recieve HELP with paying for the medication to keep them alive.
You are an ignorant angry liberal that thinks the solution to every problem is a government program. There's another way. Don't spout your bull every time someone opposes you.Comment

You will never see true communism...
Now, in theory alone communism may well be the ultimate economic system, goods are measured in labor, people take what they need to live happily on..
In practice, human greed gets involved, those with power demand more. Human laziness gets involved and people do not strive to be better than the person next to them (don't sight rare examples). There are too many human shortcomings that frankly are rewarded by capitalism and only highlighted by communism."Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. I'm sure we can all think of lots of programs that would work if we started with "if people weren't people...but some sort of 'super-being'..."Originally posted by Vash02

No, not true communism. It is the return of Collegeboy!!!!Originally posted by Vash02
Haha, lohman, oddly enough communism was supposed to provide exactly that. Everyone gets food, a house, all the clothes they need but, unfortunatly we havnt seen a true communism.

well the big problem with it is that because of all of bush's overspending in the year 2001 alone, every kid owes an avrege of 7,400 dolors. That extra spending is great now that baby boomers are retiring, but it cripples the future.that is such a chipmunk mentalityComment

I blame idiots."What we have to accomplish at this time is all the more clear: relentless criticism of all existing conditions, relentless in the sense that the criticism is not afraid of its findings and just as little afraid of the conflict with the powers that be."

We had a project in US History in school. Since we were studying about FDR and his federal based programs to reverse the effects of the Great Depression, we had to come up with some for today. While everybody had these programs for elderly, homeless, etc, I said that there should be a program to get rid of the programs. I thought it was pretty sound and funny, she didn't
Why do we need these programs? Are we in a Great Depression? Can't we think, wipe our own butts, without the government? Sad thing is both parties are trying to get more programs, more spending, bla bla bla, we need a third party headed up by Rooster and Restola. The AO Party.

The libertarians have some valid ideas. Unfortunately they fall short in two critcal places. First, given enough lee-way people become anarcists. They fall victim to mob rule. The libertarians do not recognize this trait, and do not understand why the government must take an authoritative stance on issues like drug control, abortion, and gay marriage.
I also do not agree with the libertarian's stance on national defense. An offensive army is far superior to a defensive army. In this time period we have international intrests we must protect. Sometimes that protection involves scaring our enemies with a show of force. A defensive army can not accomplish this. We are left defenseless unless we are fighting on our own soil, which hasn't happened since 1812 or so.
