Yes, anyone can (save children and the handicapped). Its all a question of priorities. I grew up in a family that was at the poverty line. I paid my way through school by working full time and going to school 20 hours a quarter. I expect no less from anyone else.

No, they cant. Full time jobs arent easy to get, also minimum wage jobs don't cover food, tuition, room/bord.

Things have changed, not for the better.

They have a similar program in Canada, I was interested in trying for the scholarship to become a pilot. Do you have to stay in the militairy for a certain amout of time after college, in the US?

In principle SOME of the things you say are right. But you go to an extreme. Lets just say that we had no government regulation. Why wouldn't a company go back to things before the 40 hour work week. Try going to school now when they expect you to work 80 hours a week.

This is the deal. It IS class warfare. It is a struggle over who is going to benefit from the group production (and it is a group affair since companies need employees, etc.)

If the extreme goes too far one way then the little guys become slaves. They work their butts off for just to eek out a living and never can get ahead. The guys on top make sure no one gets out of line to compete with them (rise up to their level).

Now if you go too far the other way there is no incentive to work. You get everything for free so why the heck show up at the factory and do your part? Plus why try and advance yourself when the people doing the hard jobs (thinking of ways to improve production, managing people (a nightmare), etc) make NO MORE money (or not enough to make it worthwhile)?

Go too far one way or the other and the system collapses in on itself. You, my friend (and I lose the term loosely), are way too far on one side....
