What lessons did the terrorists learn from Madrid:

    France, you're next!

We can't beat you at the ballot box, so we will blow you up to allow more of our Muslim brothers to move here and soak up your welfare system more!

"By that reasoning, no-one should every help the US with anything as it's your problem not ours. Next time 9/11 happens, land all your planes in the atlantic ..."

Maybe you forget who wears the pants in the US/Canada relationship (hint, its not Canada). We can make your lives very miserable if we so chose. Try shipping your worthless raw materials overseas, and see what happens to your quality of life. If the US is ever involved in a terror incident, Canada better come running to assist, or we should shut down that nice little free border that runs between us. You need us, we don't need you.

It's actually schooling for criminals as people get sent for hard time for more and more minor offenses and come out as deciples of hardened criminals on the inside.

But, then again the whole diplomatic attack on Saddam was laughable from the outset. The condition to not be invaded was to porve that he DIDN'T have banned weapons.

You know what Rooster? Your outlook is so miserable and pathetic every time I respond to one of your posts I wonder why I bother. You're so full of self centered crap it's unbelievable. You seem to be able to find self worth only in putting others down.

The world is far more interconnected than your navel gazing outlook.

I have a lot of respect for people with whom I actually have deeper disagreements than those I seem to hav ewith you. However for you, I have none.

Means nothing to you? Well, honestly your opinion has about as much effect on me.

PS: You don't belong anywhere labeled "friendly"

Yes, the world is interconnected, and all roads lead here. And whats more, you know they do.

And as far as respect, no big deal. I respect all liberals just a little less than the dirt I walk on. At least dirt has a purpose and a use.

Rooster...you need to get out more. You need to go to a major non-US city and just stand there. Watch all the people going in and out, working, producing, living...then get hit by the revelation that most people realize by the fourth grade

"Wow...my little existence is a miniscule part in a infinitely greater reality..."

I hate to admit this but both aaron_mag SlartyBartFast are right the state of the USA has no bearing at all on the rest of the world. To prove it all you have to do is look at what happened to the world economy a few days after 9-11

A common misconception. The question you need to ask is what would happen to this planet if the US ceased to exist today? Could the world markets even function?

Now what would happen if any other single country on this planet ceased to exist. Would it even compare?

I have been to many places, and many countries. I have seen mind boggling poverty, where families existed on five dollars a week. I have studied global markets and macro-economics. I know if America sneezes, the rest of the planet gets the flu.

All roads lead here, and you know they do.

Oh yeah...I forgot that the asian economic down turn didn't effect the US Market. I forgot that we are not dependent on foriegn oil.

You pea brain! I never said that the US has no bearing at all on the rest of the world. I just said we aren't EVERYTHING.

I'm sure you and Rooster have travelled alot of places. Yet you didn't stop to think that there are hyper rich people all over the world. There are people who have hustled and worked their butts off for wealth all over the world. There are people who don't really care if you have an ego centric America first attitude. When they come to visit the big wigs of America roll out the red carpet hungry for economic investment. When you come by they have the security guard throw you out the back door.

Yeah. America is a great country. Of course I agree with that. I live here. But I don't think that gives me the right to have some stupid holier than thou attitude. I'm fortunate to live her - be born here. It makes me humble, not more arrogant.

while i agree with about 90% of this, what happens to our economy the day opec decides they want to go on vacation? oil is about the only thing that someone else has that can really screw us over.
