AO: We are back from the dead... again! After an 18 day outage, we are finally alive and well. Who knew how complicated updating software/databases from 2008 would be. I still have alot of tweaks to make, but my main goal was getting everything patched and updated to 2026.
Vbulletin 6 has changed alot since 2008 so we will have a ton of new features to dig into.

while I wouldn't join the armed forces for personal reasons, I have a lot of respect for people who do. They do things that i can/will not. Mad respect out to all those in the armed forces.
welcome back devildog, it feels great to step back on US soil doesnt it? did for me. yesterday was my last day of leave i have to go to work tonight.

i dont like signatures. so i turned them off. AO is much better this way.
Paintech I can't believe you have the audacity to make a statement like that. To have so little respect for someone who protects everything the people of this country hold dear is sickening. I want to vomit on you I'm so discusted. Everyone who serves in the military gives up their "life", volintarily, so the rest of us can live the lives we want. I have two brothers both in the Navy by way of the USNA and I can state with a fair amount of certianty that both of them could have had VERY nice lives without the military but CHOOSE to serve and protect your right to say foolish things and make a jackass out of yourself. I hope you can realize what a moronic thing it was that you said and I would hope you would have the class to apoligize to not only oldsoldier but to everyone on this board who has or is serving because you insulted every service man and woman with that statement. That's my opinion

LOL!!
I personally think that men and women that serve their respective countries in whatever armed force they choose, should deserve and recieve the highest respect civillians can bestow upon them... This crap about "getting a life and not joining the army" does not show anything but disrespect. You should be ashamed to even think those words, people serving thier respective countries die EVERY SINGLE DAY... to give you disrespectful little pissants, the rights and freedoms you so enjoy.
Shartley, the MP comment wasnt meant to be general...it is specific to this place. People who serve in the military, regardless of their MOS, serve their country. It is just the professional rivalry that goes on here, thats all.
On another note...they are considering getting rid of most of the jobs in the army that can easily be done by civilians (i.e. clerical work, engineers, cooks, some MP positions), and making them grunts. So, all the naysayers that call us animals, inhuman, whatever...welcome (soon) to our brotherhood!!
As someone who used to protest against wars, I can honestly say I was wrong to ever have done so.. just as I can say that you, paintech, are also wrong. I'm not sure if you just read what he wrote wrong, or the fact that you are just ignorant to the cause as I once was. Regardless, the men and women of our country have put forth their lives protecting you so that you and I have the rights to speak our minds whether right or wrong. The are owed our respect and generosity. If you still feel such agony since you have to live among those who serve to protect you and your family, may I suggest moving to another country that is in turmoil or that doesn't have the freedoms we do here? I bet that might change your mind.
I realize you are young, just try to find out more facts before you speak. I once fell into the trap of listening to the press and those that didn't have all the facts. Don't make the same mistake.
Also, I know personally that Oldsoldier has a life, and he has put it on hold several times now. I think you owe him an apology.
