    Yeah...

The most popular things to do when lucid dreaming are flying or floating, walking through mirrors, taking journeys through your mind, and fulfilling sexual fantasies.
"Men think they think upon great politcal questions, and they do; but they think with their party, not independently; they read its literature, but not that of the other side; they arrive at convictions, but they are drawn from a partial view of the matter in hand and are of no particular value. They swarm with their party, they feel with their party, they are happy in their party's approval; and where the party leads they will follow, whether for right and honor, or through blood and dirt and a mush of mutilated morals."

Oh, and... Will I remember my dream if I'm abruptly awakened or will I forget my dream if I'm distracted while trying to remember?

I'm not sure I understand your question, but I'll try to answer it anyway. As long as you fell asleep thinking and telling yourself to remember your dream, then it most likely will happen. Even if you woke up abruptly, as long as you were in R.E.M.(deep sleep=dreaming), you should remember your dream.

Another thing I forgot to tell you. When you're lying in your bed telling youself to remember your dreams your mind tends to wander. You start to think about what happened during your day and a whole bunch of other stuff. Simply focus back on your original thought of remebering your dream. Everytime your mind wanders, slowly refocus your train of thought to remembering. As long as you do this, you WILL remember. It may not happen tonight, but it will definately happen in the next couple of days. It all depends on how bad you want it, and how much effort you bring to the table. With a little perseverence you can train your mind to do amazing things.

I think im gonna try this. I love when i dream and i can remeber them. I think i lucid dream often. It seems like when im woken up early in the moring from a dream and if i fall back asleep i can control what happens in it if not it is something i like anyways so it's almost as good

              Dream update:

I just remembered a dream that just woke me up... I took a crap on a lizard... weird dream huh? It started when I was walking upstairs to my bathroom and then I tried to take a crap when something jumped and tried to get out of the toilet. I got off the toilet like any sane fool would and found a lizard sitting in the toilet bowl. I then took the lizard out and flushed the toilet. Then I cleaned the lizard. I started walking around yelling at people asking if it was a prank. Then I found another lizard near my toilet. I then started a conspiracy theory about the government putting electro-magnetic systems into toilet bowls to try and make the water spin weird directions...

              Weird dream huh?

I have trouble falling asleep when I think to myself "remember my dreams" over and over and over again... I the last thing I remember before sleeping was being empty minded... Did I mess up or was this some lucky fluke?

NE Body dreamed in 1st person and 3rd person at the same time? I did this once and it was totally weird. Kinda enjoyed it tho.

I lucid dream when I wake up early and go back to sleep, but personally i'm just happy to remember most of my dreams. I think that controlling them, while amusing, takes something away from dreaming. Isn't dreaming supposed to be a window into yourself? Like where you're suppressing something? Oh well, interesting stuff tho.

Yeah, I usually dream in 3rd person most of the time but there are occasions when I dream in 1st person...
How do you do both at the same time?

Don't know how I did it, but thats the best way to describe it. I was doing some Tomb Raider style adventure and I could see thru my eyes and from 3rd person (above and behind) at the same time. Somehow it wasn't that disorienting.

                            Good stuff...

Ok, just to answer some of those questions:

                            1. You will have a little trouble trying to focus all your thoughts on 'remembering' when you go to sleep. Its natural, because your mind wants to wander. But you did succeed, that was no fluke. You should fall asleep with a clear head and with the notion that you will remember your dream. With a little practice, this should be no problem. Its all just a matter of focus and concentration.

                            2. Napping is another great way to induce lucid dreaming. Simply waking up an hour earlier then when you are supposed to helps a lot. Set your alarm clock an hour early. When it goes off, wake up and get out of bed. Walk around your house or go to the bathroom, but just get awake. Then go back to bed immediately. Perform MILD again and your chances of having a lucid dream are increased by 20%! Even afternoon napping helps a lot too.

                            3. Yes, dreaming is a window into yourself. By remembering your dream you are only limited to that scenario. You can only analzye what you saw and remember. But when you lucid dream you can really look into yourself. There is no limit to the imagination, thus giving you the ultimate self-analyzation. Lucid dreaming only gives to the whole experience, it doesn't take away. You are leading yourself through your mind rather than being led.

                            4. Foo, you should try to analyze your dreams. Look for symbolism and try to figure out what your subconscience was telling you. For example, you were going to the bathroom; you were excreting. You were letting something go or getting something out of your body. Maybe you were getting over something that happened in real life. And when the lizard came it was telling you to stop and come back. It wasn't letting you go or it didn't want you to go. By picking the lizard up and cleaning it you have returned to the original situation. It did not let you go and you listened to it. Not only did you listen to it but you were nice to it. Maybe i'm overanalyzing the dream too much, but you get the idea anyway. Your dreams are messages from your subconscience that are somehow tied into the real world. Look for symbolism and use it to decipher your dream.

                            5. I'm actually disappointed because I didn't have a lucid dream last night. Not only did that not happen but I'm having trouble remembering my dreams from last night! My roommate screwed it up because he woke me up and distracted me. You can forget your dreams very easily. Theres only that prime 5 minutes when you wake up that you remember everything clearly and vividly. Its on the tip of my brain, but I can't seem to remember it. Oh well, I'll definately remember them tonight.
