I am now the king of Lambretta!

I now have the market cornered on Lambrettas and Lambretta parts in this area. I just brought one full truck load of every part time umpteen of everything on one plus three almost complete Bikes (one running) also includes one frame from a Tampa Florida Police bike. And an original Italian frame as well... I got enough stuff to build all three (although one is almost ready and running and driving now).... If anyone wants Lambretta stuff... I am the man. Some of this stuff took years to accumulate and find. YEARS!!!!

    Pictures coming soon!

This is the running one... Minus some of the trim parts off it in these photos, like the Side Panel cowls and the Head Set cover... I have those. But they are just off for final wireing and cable adjustment. Oh... and the seat is off as well in these pictures. All that stuff, plus enough to build like two more is what I have.

Just so you can see and just for an example... this is what one looks like when all the trim panels are back on. This One is a Lambretta SX200 but its close to the same look as the Jet 200 like that one above of mine when its finished out.

Hypothetical situation: If I were to buy one from you...How much would it cost? I've been assessing my college transportation issues for next year and for around campus it might be nice....hypothetically nice, ofcourse.

Ok well those are rather difficult to answer simply...

Yes they are...or should I say CAN be street leagal. With turn signals and all. They have standard motorcycle requirements there. Brake light, turn indicators and one mirror at least. Of course those can come off and they NOT be technically legal. But certainly so far everything I have done is legal street stuff.

Now the issue here is price. You can spend as much as you want (someone restores it for you) or as little (you know someone and you do some work on it). You can go to Upscale shops where they do it and charge out the ying yang.. but they do it right. Or you can learn or find some enthusiast that will assist you. They often are very willing to share just like Paintball people.

But the scooters I am talking about here and doing ARE NOT twist and go scooters. They are fairly high powered (for the frame size) and they have gears. 4 of them most often. They are not something you can take lightly. I happen to know some people in both of your areas that are good contacts to start if you want to get into it. They will make sure you do not get taken and steer you to a first reliable scooter for not much money. Figure on spending around 2 grand for a clean reliable vintage Scooter. Anywhere from 1400 to 2000 or so. More looks cost more. Some models are HIGHLY expensive and rare. Those prices do not reflect that. Those are for readily findable and dependable late models. late 70s through 80s stuff.

If you want to really learn and are mechanicaly inclined you can find lots of bits and pieces and build yourself one for half that.

Either way they going to be good on gas. 60-80 mpg. But these will do fast enough to kill you. 60-70 mph. On small wheels.

If you are not into that and maintenance and all then get a little Japanese automatic scooter and they will get you around fine. Cheap on gas too. Gonna cost you about the same thing up front if not a bit more. Not as cool for certain as they plastic and disposable... but they do the job at 30 MPH so they can get you around. You can kit them and get a bit more. No shifting. Do not go up in value like the Vintage things do but they do the job if you just want to get around campus.

But these vintage Motorcycle Scooters are so much cooler. But then again a bit more effort.

Which ones? They make a fairly good line of them. From Moped class up to some fairly decent large cruisers. I know all they make is 4 strokes and they always make good motors. Not cheap but good. Not very great resale value though. All plastic and noting spectacular in the design and looks department. Dependable though.

a 80's c-70 I think is what it is. It ran really well and then my brother took it for a year and it sat outside and now it runs poorly I changed the fuel line the reserve live was clogged with poo, and a new plug from 1/2 throttle to wide open it just makes this odd throaty noise? I adjusted the gap on the points and took the carb apart and counted the turns I took the jets out and put them back the same. but now it runs better but not like it did it will not easly get over 35 and even that takes forever. It is a 3 speed. I will try and get a pic or two.
