Finally, I managed to get an Apple PowerMac G5, with a Cinema HD 23" LCD Monitor. Damn, this thing is beautiful. Wish I switched even earlier...... Now, off to install my Adobe programs, and everything else.

Ok, just to clear any confusion:

The screen: $2,000
Educational Discount: -$200
Rebate: -$300

$2,699 for the Computer (Ed. Discount)

So.....
It equals $4,199

Now, this is used for photography, so it is important that it be fast. Why buy a 2nd rate computer and dump it 2-3 years down the line when you can buy a GREAT computer and keep it for 6-8(with upgrading)

I'd get the G5 if i had the cash, until then the original dual G4 will have to do (450 mhz).

I also agree with you comment about keeping the Mac. I bought mine brand new when the first Duals came out 4 years ago, and it is still plenty fast.
