    New car for all A's.

Before you guys start saying "Your parents are going to buy you a new car for just getting all A's?!?!" Yes they are but making good grades is incredibly hard for me.

I have been working REALLY hard lately and I CANNOT make all A's. On my last history test I studied all night the two nights before the test, I then studied with a friend, I talked to the teacehr about whats on the test and I wrote my essays out ahead of time so that I would know what I was going to write. With all that effort I made a 88. I have never studied so hard for ANYTHING.

Just tonight I spent 4 hours studying, it is alot for tongiht considering I had to run some errands other wise I would of studied for 6.

Now to the point, if I try as hard as humanly possible do you think I still deserve what my mom promised me? Or do you think I HAVE to reach all A's?

My thought is that if I try as hard as I can I still did my best and (there isn't a good way to say this) I deserve the car. I am not saying that I expect to be rewarded when I do good at something because my mom set this goal without any input from me.

We have already agreed on a Honda Del Sol.

Before everyone starts ranting and raving about it being a chick car I've already got the plan for how to unchickcar it.

Hmmmmmm..... they are offering you a car.... What do you think you should do dingleberry? Shheeoooot. Here is the thing about life... you get the things you work for... and you need to work for the good things. The sooner you learn that one the better off you are. Yes.. it'll require work... but when you are driving around in YOUR car it will be well worth it.

Uhh no... don't make assumptions. I am buying s2000 seats for it and getting them reupholstered ox blood red. It will have silver paint. Lets see, what does that remind me of...? Oh ya! A Ferrari, that doesn't seem very ricey to me. Hrmm I am also not getting a body kit, another ricey feature not going on my car. It will have no NOS, yet another ricey item not going onto my car. No underlights, Momo crap, turbos, 18" + rims.

Do not make assumptions about stuff you don't know about. Because a car is a Honda does not make it ricey.

I am not sure exactly what you meant by that, if you were implying that making all A's isn't work then you obviously didn't read my post. Good grades do not come easy for me. I have worked harder than I ever have and can still not get them. As for working I have 4 jobs thank you. I am a bagger at Albertsons, I help designs websites for my friends dad, I design banners for my church, and I ref soccer. My income goes to my car insurance, savings, and helping my dad to pay the bills which is having a hard time doing. Don't talk to me about work.

If your statement had a different meaning feel free to explain it.

I dint say that grades dont require work. I'm saying they are worth the work.... far more than you can ever immagine,,,, if you could you would never have posted this. Period. Hey your life you do what you want with it... however I would say the better grades you get.... the shorter amount of time you bag groceries. Sounds like incentive to me,.... much less a car.

The car offer from my mom is to make me make better grades so that I can get into a better college. I understand the meaning of doing good in school is to get into college and not get a car but lucky for me they are one in the same right now.

I really don't mind bagging, I can think about stuff better if I am doing something so as weird as it sounds it is kind of a release for me. Not that I wouldn't rather be out doing something else.

                /begin rant

And Automaggin2, on top of what I said earlier what gives you the right to critique my car? I am driving it not you. Why should you have any input on what I get?

                /end rant

I think that you deserve the car whether you get the As or not. You seem to be working your tail off....helping your dad pay bills even. You deserve it if keep up the work....don't stop once you get the car. Goodluck, maybe you just haven't found the best study method for your mind. I do best if I divide things into sections, and make a story of it. All preference.

Out here in the real world, you don't get a bonus for almost closing a deal, no matter how hard you worked on it. Therefore I don't think you should get a car for almost getting straight A's. Effort is not rewarded. Results are.

Another lesson you will learn is how to prioritize. If you're working four jobs, then I don't think getting straight A's was your number one priority. Time spent working is time you could have spent studying. As hard as you say you've worked, you could obviously have worked harder.

Meh, I say go for it. Most teenagers, well not MOST, but a lot, get a car for doing NOTHING.

                              What he said.

Sounds to me like having four jobs is your problem. I dont know how much seats cost for a car, but the fact that your spending money on new seats, for a new car tells me that you don't really need four jobs. You said you stayed up all night the two days before your exam studying. That is a mistake. You should be well rested when your taking tests. You can't do that though because you have to work four jobs. You need to prioritize.
