    Weird lump in my skin

I just noticed some weird mass/lump under my skin between my jaw and ear on my left side. It's weird because I think it just appeared today, and is already more than an inch wide, and I think it goes down pretty far.

Does anyone know WTF this is? I wonder if I should see a doctor. Stupid strange things growing under my skin...

You need to see a doctor on that one. Is it in the neck area or higher?

The arrow in the pic sorta explains it's whereabouts. Right behind where the jaw joint place and in front of ear.

Does your jaw hurt? Maybe is just swollen.

That and the fact that I don't feel like searching through endless conditions on medical sites. And the fact that it is midnight. :) I hope it is only a swollen lymph node.

Let's see, I have a lump from anthrax on my left arm, and a blister/pimple looking thing on my right arm from small pox. The small pox itches like crazy.

I'd like to know what it is too... I kinda have something similar going on in the exact same spot...had it for a couple months now...

My mother won't leave it alone cause she says its red/black and looks like it needs to bleed out or something? I'ts not as big as your describing yours as (mabey 1/2" on my ear). Mabey its too late for you but I may still have a fighing chance of getting rid of mine... ...

Could be a cyst. I had one on my back for a long time and had it taken out a few years ago. It became inflamed and was painful when I put pressure on it.

Cyst? Taken out?... those words make me think... eep...

Any details as to how it was removed? extensive or minor surgery?

I'm scared to death of being majorly operated on. Rather would die than sleep in operation... Even routine operations scare me if I would have to sleep during it.

Yes it was minor surgery and I was awake the whole time. The only time it hurt was when the surgen administered the anesthetic directly around the cyst. During the surgery, I could feel the surgen make the incision and cut out the cyst. For next few days I could not sleep on my back.

It could be nothing, but lumps under your skin shouldn't be ignored.

Talk to a doctor. Worst case you'll find you only have a few months to live.
