    My homepage keeps changing.

Ok, so my homepage keeps changing. Should be simple spyware right? Well... probably is, but ad-aware wont pick up on it. It changes it to "About:Blank" and I have no idea what it is. It changes it NONstop and its tweaking me out. Heck, I broke a mouse over my monitor in a fit of rage. (Yes, I sadly have a stupid stupid temper) Anyways, WHAT IN GODS NAME IS IT AND HOW CAN I STOP IT?

    Thanks.

    Use Spybot.

It got rid of the homepage and search engine hijacking on my sister's computer.

I've got something from Lop.com. It puts stuff on my computer, changes toolbars, and changes homepage. Also, it causes IE to go non responsive all the time. I tried spybot and ad aware and neither work. In fact, spybot freezes when it gets the to the lop file.

Well...a buddy of mine called me last week flipping out because of this reason (I hate being the one friend that happened to have a computer job, I must know everything right). Well, I took a look at his pc and sure enough something I changing his homepage (and search page) and really screwing things up. The page was something like searchpage.cc. I ran Spybot and ad-aware and neither picked anything up. I ran VirusScan and again nothing. So i did a search for the URL in google...nothing. Then while looking at the page, at the bottom there was a like that said something like "having problems" so i clicked on it. It gave some directions on how to fix it ehich included running an uninstall.exe. This scared me, but I figure what the fudge, it's all ready screwed. I followed the instructions and all was good. Reran spybot, ad-aware and virus scan just to make sure. Funny thing was...at the bottom of the instructtion it said something like "Quit looking for free porn" he was pretty embarrased

Nice story. I would use a smiley, but as it is, the smileys suck.

Anyhow, Im still having problems. I tried spybot, adaware, virusscan, nothing. About:blank doesnt even appear to be a website that I can go to, thats why im not sure how to fix it.

Mabe I could reinstall internet explorer?

Oh, no way im getting rid of IE... I hate all those other web browsers. IE is awesome.

Try to see if anything is running in the background that shouldn't be.

In Run, type msconfig and see what programs are at start up.

Anyways, you think that mabe it ISNT spyware? Its called "About:Blank," and it has no address that I Can find, even if I mouse of links. I cant find ANYTHING on it though. Im getting EXTREMELY aggitated.

ok, i had the same problem, and this might sound stupid, but did you update adaware? all you hafta do is click on update now. Also make sure you choose a custom scan, and have all the things under regristry checked.
                            Hope This Helps!
