personally i think it'll be some dumb country like north korea that goes ape one day and launches all their crap. that'd be the way to go. i live 15 minutes north of glendale and either i'd get vaporized or the mountains seperating us from l.a. would stop the blast, but then the gas lines that run from l.a. to our little city would explode because of the heat and killl everyone for like 20 miles. so no matter what ill get vayped

the super volcano or asteroid/comet. i really dont think that all out nuclear war is a legit possiblity. there are only two countries that have the ability to end the world that way, and i just dont see that these days. sure china has a fair number of nukes, but they lack the total number and the missiles to get the job done. while they have the ability to work over asia, the ending of the world, i dont think they have that ability.

we have not spend enough money to scan all of the sky. we just simply dont know what is floating around out there and where its heading.

we are overdue for a super volcano eruption, as we are with asteroid/comet strike. the end result from both would be similar, but i think the volcano would be somewhat more impressive.

i have thought about this before and would i rather be told several months in advance or hours. with being told early on whats going to happen mantaining law would be almost impossible, but it might afford you the chance to see and do things before you go. say you always wanted to see mt rushmore but just havent had the time/money, well now you can because working would be rather pointless. i think i would rather have a few hours notice. less time to build up panic, less chance of major lawlessness. it gives you a chance to make peace with yourself and you can get a lawn chair and hang out with your family for cryers front row seat.

I think what will finally take out life is a new disease. I am in Microbilogy right now and it all makes sence that this is pretty much the way its gunna be. For one, we are cutting down the rain forest(im not a hippie) and there for being introduced to new viruses. We cant even kill the virus we have today, just delay them. Also, the bacterial diseases we have now is becoming resistant to pretty much all modern anti-bacterial syrums. The strongest thing we have is vancomycen(sp) and if you have something that is resistant to that (and there is), good bye. With all the mutations of diseases going on, what if HIV became airborn(don't worry, it cant) but what if?

So in a nut shell, thats what I think is going to happen to bring the end.

Well, first off, we are going to decide that the chinesse are going down, so we launch our crap at them, and they wonder is shooting at them, so they shoot back, and France decides to get into the game, but they are "le tired" so they have a nap and then fire thier crap.

Pretty soon the entire world is gone, as missles fly by each other, saying "Yo" and "Whats up". But as long as nothing like this happens, the only thing you californians gotta worry about is breaking off with the US to go hang out with Hawaii, Alaska can come too...

i think it will go like this. As resources fade, most will adapt, some will freak out. I think there will be alot of histeria. I think that disease will destroy much of the developing world. The more affluent nations and people will remain mostly unhurt. however, without the labor force of the world, the general economy will break down, slowly. One thing will lead to another, and the system of services as we know it in America will crumble. without services to support out technology and lives (food, power, water etc.) many will turn to violence. This will eventually destroy our civilazation, but will eventually stop, when survivors realize that they have nothing to gain by further destruction. They will return to hunting and gathering, and lead a life similar to that of the neolithic period. Due to lack of resources, they will eventually sucumb to the harsh life style. That is what i believe will happen.

Well, yeah, thats a given. but doesnt the Bible mention a period of destruction leading up to Christs return? IE: Armageddon? I suppose thats what we're speculating about.


Sometimes, I cant help but wonder if this current conflict might be the beginning of the end...

Within several years, it could be just us and Isreal against everyone else.


Imagine that feeling tho: Knowing that the world is in a state of political tension (like the cold war). You know that everyone is sitting with their finger hovering over "the button"... Then one day, during your typical daily activites, you hear the air-raid sirens and you know exactly what they mean.
I've tried to imagine the feeling of utter helplesness you'd feel after hearing something like that: Knowing that, somewhere across the globe, the death of your entire city is bearing down on you like a freight train and theres nothing you can do but sit there with arms outstretched.

I'd like to know atleast an hour in advance... (I know the quote isn't exact but it's from Cabin Fever) "It's like when your on an airplane that's going down and you know you're gonna die so you just grab the closest person to you and f the s out of them"

But I think it's going to be some catastrophis natural disaster that will end the earth. A Nuclear Holocaust might severly devistate the population, but I don't think it would end the world entirely. Then when we're gone, if the earth didn't get destroyed, it'll slowly clean itself up and another form of life will come along.

Also, on a side note, if you think about it, humans are exactly like a virus. We reproduce, spread, and f the planet up.
