Racial Double Standards in Journalism!

A white man writes the same article as a Pulitzer Prize Winning Black man and is now a racist.

It sucks, but that happens all the time. Alot of people will take any excuse they can find to scream racism.
In 6th grade, a black kid for some reason insted on calling me a "nigger", all day he kept saying it, eventually I said "no you are" never using the word. Guess who got to spend the day in the principals office, and guess who nothing happend to.
Aparently its impossible for a minority to be racist, they can make racist comments about white people all day, and noone cares, but a white person says somthing about a minority, and its a big deal. If a white guy beats up a black guy for a good reason they can whine about it being a hate crime, but if a black guy beats up a white guy for being a white guy in the wrong neighborhood or somthing, it isn't a hate crime.

What gets me is the comment where she says, he will never know what it is to be black. That's just incredibly stupid, and is besides the point. It make no difference what color you are, to have an accurate understanding of what is going on.

People of all colors are just so dumb... makes me mad.

I was playing against a black guy in a high school tennis match. He was cheating like mad, calling all my shots out (using honor system). I was beating him anyway, but it got ridiculous and he cheated enough for me to lose my lead. I demanded a line judge - and he said I was asking for that because he was black. This sort of thing PISSES me off - one of the few things that gets me outraged.

I yelled at him and said "I'm getting a line judge because you're a cheating SOB!" The coaches did not want to get involved, I ended up losing. I have enough black friends who would defend my character, that I got in people's faces afterwards - yelling at coaches for not getting involved, following that guy around yelling at him. I was aiming to get in school newspaper, such that I could make them look incredibly stupid once my friends defended me. I was hunting for somebody to call me a racist and have that documented, so I could let them eat it.

We had a funny thing happen in my companies region. We had a black girl accuse a russian collegue of not liking her because she is black. When she confronted her calling her a racist, the russian responded saying I don't care about your color, I don't like you because you are a lazy slob. Black lady filed a formal complaint, but lost. The russian lady saved her defense for last. The russians husband and children were all black! Black lady was fired for harrassment and false claims very soon there after!

That's sad, about your only defense is having black friends to support you. And, having a black husband/wife is awesome defense.

Pulling the "he doesn't know what it's like to be black" is a crock of crap. Sure, he may not experience racism because he's black in the modern world, but how do they know that his grandfather's grandmother wasn't a slave?

I'm 1/128 American Indian, but don't get the same benefits because I don't "look" American Indian, even if my ancestors were forced off their land and slaughtered by the rest of my ancestors.

African Americans in general piss the hell out of me. I know a few black kids, one is a good friend of mine and we paintball a lot together. It seems like white people moved on and they still want to have something to complain about. There are black people on our street that we are good friends with and they invited us to their Kwanza celebration. I felt a little out of place....but whatever. It really started annoying me when they were talking about how they will overcome their white counterparts, then started singing "we will overcome". Talk about uncomfortable? I think all these black people that insist on calling white people racist for doing pretty much nothing need to grow up and get a life.

What's kind of interesting is that, there are certain ethnicities that don't get help with scholarships like other minorities - because there is an over-representation of them to begin with. They have the hardships associated with where they are from and such - yet certain minorities get more help because of politics.

Personally, I think it should all be a matter of financial need and the student demonstrating a desire to further her education. To me, it is completely ridiculous to make decisions based on percentages of melanin.

Miscue, you sir, are dead on. It used to be just like black, white and other, until they started to exclude Asians from items because "they're smarter" and don't need the help whereas hispanics need more help. Now it's a list of about 20ish different races, so they can play politics with who you are.

My friend got a scholarship from Colorado School of Mines, which they later pulled because he wasn't black. He never marked down that he was black, so I don't know what they were thinking.

From now on, I'm putting other because I can't say with a degree of absolute certainty that my ancestors weren't black, hispanic or some other race.

$2500 a friend of mine got for being half Purta Rican, and she is by no means in need of any type of financial aid.

i get accused of being racist more often than i should, because people take it out of context and if they knew me would know that i'm the least racist person there is. on one occassion at a former work place i said "ghetto" and got accused of being racist because i was in a room with all black women, i was like wtf?? there is white ghetto, black ghetto, brown ghetto, yellow ghetto, etc.

anyway, on pyro's comment there is/was a prominent pb player that gets financial aide from being whatever fraction he is of native american. to me and everyone else the boy looks white, and doesn't seem to need the financial aide.

i always put Native American, i really don't care if i get in trouble for it or not (i'm totally irish, but that will come into play for point 2). Hell i was born here in america. i consider myself as native as anyone can be here.

and the being irish. we were treated terribly when we migrated here. There is a little known saying that was: Better to be a (n word) than a mic. A mic is a terrible racial slur for people of irish decent.

whatever though, i don't know if its extreme or anything like that, but i think that associating things with color is stupid and subconsciously promotes racism as well. ie: white symbolizing purity, and black symbolizing evil.

why can't we just use things other than color to describe things. Unfortunately we have to conform to the ignorance of others, and so long as it isn't a life or death situation i really don't see why we can't just suck it up and shut up.

I live in Savannah, which is pretty friggin' ghetto, black ghetto to be exact.

Almost every single day, if I leave my house I will encounter every
black stereotype in the book, this is no exageration as anyone who has ever lived her can tell you... Black people who I work and am friends with constantly make very cutting, and truthfull remarks about the behavior of their friends and neighbors AT WORK. Of course, I would, without question, be imedietly fired if I said the same things.

I just hate ignorant people, period. In Savannah they just happen to be black.

Where I'm from originally in tennessee, they all happen to be white.

For me it has little to do with race and more to do with location. You could drop me in a ghetto filled with martians and I would hate them just as much if they actively cultivated stupidity as enthusiastically as the local populations of Savannah and my hometown....
