Personally, I think it should all be a matter of financial need and the student demonstrating a desire to further her education. To me, it is completely ridiculous to make decisions based on percentages of melanin.

i get accused of being racist more often than i should, because people take it out of context and if they knew me would know that i'm the least racist person there is. on one occassion at a former work place i said "ghetto" and got accused of being racist because i was in a room with all black women, i was like wtf?? there is white ghetto, black ghetto, brown ghetto, yellow ghetto, etc.

They want black communities within the US independent of the government.
I guess they think the native amerians have some kind of good deal going with the reservations.

The federal government should supply every African American with a job.

They want 40 acers and 2 mules for every black, which is redicouls on a number of levels.
Most importantly, there are no ex-slaves left alive today, why shoulid you get reperations if you weren't a slave.
Many don't have any slave ancestry, having immigrated after the abolishment of slavery.
Your great great great grandfather gets 40 acers and 2 mules, now lets figure as a minimum 2 children per generation, thats 5 aceres each, and somthing like 4/7ths of a mule.

What are we supposed to do, we already learn about there history within the US, and some history of Africa in public schools. Are we supposed to switch from US history, and teach african history?

Yes because a black person is incapable of committing a crime. Noone is above the law, not even a black. Why is the incarceration level not proportinate for blacks and whites? Because they commit more crimes, thats the only way for it to happen...

Oh yeah, well my favorite part is when they point out that if they can't find a job, then the government should give them one, if the government doesn't want to give them one then we should just give them guaranteed income, enough to provide them a high standard of living.

This guy preached that load of crap to me for a year. Makes sense though he couldn't hold a job worth crap. I guess it was because he was "being oppressed by racist white men who were keeping him down and perpetuating the historical evils committed to his people".

Pretty weird though, I always figured he kept getting fired for skipping days, showing up late, being lazy, mouthing off, smoking weed at work, etc etc. But hey what do I know right?

What's kind of interesting is that, there are certain ethnicities that don't get help with scholarships like other minorities - because there is an over-representation of them to begin with. They have the hardships associated with where they are from and such - yet certain minorities get more help because of politics.

I'll agree with you there. I COULD claim my hispanic side for some financial aid at school but I choose not to cause in reality I don't need it. Plus I'm white and look nothing close to hispanic. Cali's Community colleges are so cheap per unit that if I couldn't afford it I'd be on welfare. Literally it's $13/unit (on the way up due to Ahnold!) and most classes are 3 or 4 units. Books are often time way more expensive then the class itself.

As for the article. "Williams "does not know the experiences African-Americans have gone through. He will never know that," said Lauren Smith, president of the university's Black Student Union." This quote just makes me laugh. Yes black people were and in some cases still are mistreated. Then again what about the Indians, Hispanics, Chinese that helped build the railroad system of the U.S? The race card has been played way too much. If I was to be a comic and say 90% of what Dave Chapelle/Chris Rock says I'd probably be labeled a racist and protested everywhere as well. This society has it in their heads that just because of Skin color certain things can be said by one but not the other. If I was to use the "N" word I'd be labeled a racist but yet Chapelle/Rock use the "n" word religiously and get laughs and applauded. Double standards are everywhere.
