    I don;t really like fords,
i find with their gas trucks they concentrate too much on looks and theres not really anything impressive about the powerstroke.
Actually the cummins is second in class behind the 6.0 powerstroke. I agree with the fact that the cummins is an awesome engine and very reliable, but what good is a million mile engine in a pickup that won't even last 250k? My dad has a dodge with the cummins and it's still running strong, but the doors are falling off their hinges, paint is coming off in chunks and it's basically just all around trashed! all with only a bit over 200k on the odometer (which stopped working about a half a year ago I might add) Where as we also have a 93 f-150, a 96 f-150 and a 95 f-250 powerstroke all with well over 200k on them and which are all running as good as new and also basically have mint bodies. There are hardly even any squeaks! Other than the few little dings and scratches that come from being a farm work pickup these things are good as new.

Oh and the duracrap??? Aluminum heads and a cast block on a diesel do not mix... that is unless you enjoy changing headgaskets often! Also any diesel can be made to have 700 hp and 1000 tq, but it's gonna hit you in the wallet...

Thats why the duramax is nice, its encredibly easy and cheap to up the hp and torque if you so desire. You'll save the money in fuel :)

Why don't you like the 6.5 Turbo? It's not the strongest engine, but GM's truck lasts quite a while.

310,000kms and all that was changed was a starter and a few wires. I also don't live in the best enviroment for vehicles.

My g/f bought a 94 Chevy 1500 with 118k from a local used car sales place. Not even three days after she got it, the oil pressure plummeted and so we got it in our shop and pulled the pan (major pain in the A$$!!!) and found that there were two spun rod bearings.

Stupid used car stealership said there was no warranty on it since it was a 4x4, but since it was so soon after she purchased it they decided to do a 50/50 split on the cost of parts and labor. I tried to get them to pay for just the parts so I could rebuild it, but NOPE! Two weeks later and they're still not done with it!!! I could have had that engine rebuilt in 3 nights!
Chevys are good trucks, you bought a used truck, god knows what the previous owner did with it. And there is this thing called the lemon law, which means because they are a dealership there is a warrenty regardless of wheather or not they state it. What they told you is just a load of bull to save them some money.

I'd wait and see what gas prices are like 1 year from now. I was thinking about buying an 84' Corvette, but if gas hits $4 a gallon, anything other than a moped will be too expensive to drive/ride aggressively.
Shoot it like you stole it!
