They are probably NOT walking their dog. it's quite possible that they just let the dog out to "do his business". They have no idea where it's deposited, and don't care. While shooting the dog is wrong, so are the owners.

Hahah you are so wrong. I dont know what kind of pelet guns you play with, but any real pellet gun can have very high FPS and can be accurate on the pinpoint at a great distance. I personally have one that is a PUMP and goes 900 fps.

Not true... I have a Daisey Model 9856 pellet rifle... $35 at Walmart. It convieniently comes with a scope, and with a $6 tin of pellets I could harass any animal from 40 yards accuratly. When I say accuratly I mean as in constantly being able to hit apples and soda cans endlessly...

I with my $35 air rifle, could do alot of damage with little or no effort, seeing as of how I choose to be safe and not conduct such activities reflects purly upon my charicter. Unfortunatly some people out there actually do seek to accomplish thier little self policing acts... which in turn ruins the privelage for the rest of us. The use of an air rifle for such destructive reasons is exactly why you have to be 18 to purchase pellets nowadays, when it really should be otherwise. If only people would be responsible and be smart about the ways they express thier feelings towards dog poo, maby our country would have a few more freedoms than it currently has.

My step brother had one of those 30 dollar pump pellet guns. He pumped it 10 times and shot me from well the barrel was on my skin, and it didn't peirce.

You just snap the barrel forward like a shotgun, load it, snap it back, and kablooie. It had pistons inside that gathered the air. Half the time he shot the rabbits they would be dead. I think that could do some damage to a dog from a fair distance.

Hey, has anyone else ever shot those .22 cal pellet guns? I haven't handled one in a while, but if I remember right, those things can get pretty gnarly. I think the pellets are something like 30-grain. I mean, you get a 30-grain projectile moving at 700-900 fps, an who ever is on the business end of that thing is in for some pain.

Shes really nice, the only thing is she doesnt know how strong she is, and how big she is.... ie. she'll knock u down while trying to play catch

I hate to contradict your expertise in this area (ok i don't), but I used to have a pellet gun and we used to shoot pellets that were pointed. They didnt flatten on impact, they would stick into the side of the house. My cousin used to have a pellet gun that was fed with a clip and ran off Co2. That thing was pretty mean. So, there are pellets and pellet guns that could have put a hole in the side of that dog. Oh yeah, not to mention the fact that i saw this on the news not 30 minutes ago and it showed the hole in the side of the dog. Now, i cant speak on the "tearing" of the hole, but it still looked like it hurt alot.
