Micahel Moore has to change his film title!

Michael Moore plagerized Fahrenheit 9/11 from Ray Bradbury's famous novel Fahrenheit 451 as every one knows. However he did it with out permission.

Bradbury has demanded he change the name!!!

Politics aside, Moore's clearly protected under parody--Bradbury has no legal leg to stand on.

If he changes the title, it'll be out of courtesy to Bradbury, and nothing more.

As was stated above It is not plagarism, NOR does he have to change the title of his film. He is protected by parody. And any change he makes would be out of respect for bradbury. So he doesnt have to change the title. THe article failed to mention one of the main reasons why Bradbury is aggravated, a new Fahrenheit 451 movie is coming out om time next year.

1de. Im new to the word "troll". But given what ive been told it is and the opening of this thread I could easily and justifiably attach the word to your name. Why? Why on earth do you continually open political threads. I heard that was agianst the rules, pardon me if im wrong on that.

And you can try and defend the opening of this thread as being just a fair reporting of the news. However, you managed to release your own personal opposition to Moore.

All im saying is starting this thread is asking for worthless politial fights. As we have long established no one, apparently, on this forum can seem to have a decent discourse with another. So all thats going to happen is everyone who everyone here who hates Moore, having seen his movies and read his books or not, is going tocheer and make irrational comments along the lines that have allready been made. Then those who either love Moore, simply oppose the same things he oppose, or those who are agianst the current administration are going to get defensive.


We can ALL predict that this is exactly what will become of this thread. No one will say anything worhtwhile.

these topics are well within the scope of Friendly Corner, but if you can't respond in a civil manner, which you rarely do, they are closed... if you can refrain from your petty diatribes you may have noticed that these threads often last quite a while, with good discussion on all sorts of topics...

Bradbury wrote a column in the Wall Street Journal not too long ago, it was excellent...

I was suprised he was still alive, but he's a sharp cookie alright.

I personally don't hate Moore. He has his view, yes, and to take it away from him would be extremely wrong against us all. He has interesting ideas and some odd ways of connecting stuff but I like to hear what he has to say. To automatically condemn the movie before reviewing his information is truely ignorant. Listen to what he has to say, then base a judgement out of that. Yes he has an extreme agenda. Everyone should know this before going in. Doesn't mean though that what he says may not be factual til all evidence is brought forth that it is not. No matter what both sides say, if it's something that can "hurt" their career in politics, they will deny, deny, deny. So right away I know that the Bush supporters will attack Moore's alligations. I know some of the Kerry supporters will support the film to bring down Bush's name. All in all though he's doing what he does. Review the evidence before making an assumption is all that I have to say.

Also before someone spouts of something dumb like "I saw Bowling and that was more then enough" type of deal just won't cut it. Just like in court if you assume someone's guilty before ALL the evidence is presented then you could be condeming a innocent man.

Moore also cares about his country. He is excercising his right to free speech, and his right to vote. You can love America but not the president. Alas he is our leader though and I'll follow him til I have the chance to vote him out. Bless America.

No, I'll discuss it here. I'm just curious as to why you think he hates America? His lying, etc don't mean he hates America; they could very well just be what he uses to get things changed to the war he wants them.

Fine, here is my view on Moore.

At first, I respected him, if I did not agree with him. I felt that while "Roger and Me" was a fairly well done movie that some of his points were a bit inane. Calling on the President of Phillip Morris to roll a cigarette is just as stupid as asking a line worker in one of the factories to run the entire company.

After BFC I saw Moore for what he was. A self-indulgent turd. He slams Bush at every opportunity for lying to the public and then he goes and does the exact same thing in GCF.

Very hypocritical and a great way to lose fans.

Also, I never said that he hates America. While he may hate how things are done here he does not hate America.
