My plan is to get an MBA from Harvard or maybe become a corporate lawyer (I'd still get an MBA, seems like that'd be a huge edge.).

Update: Just got a call back from the Admin. Apparently I'm not the only one with the complaint. They tried putting a call into him about three weeks ago and still haven't heard back.

Good I told you call first! If this is wide spread, the admin might just give you the A rather then fight over someone who is gone!

i understand that, but this is how you go about it. first you ask for an explanation. THEN you start arguing your case. try to be adult and diplomatic about it. act like you're trying to work WITH them and not AGAINST them. k? acting with tact while still being insistent about it will get you far.

That's definitely what I've been doing Mantis.

I had already called and left the Admin a very polite message saying that I'd like to get it changed if at all possible.

On a side note, I got my AP Us History score today and it's a 4. Pretty good for a one semester class with no direction (I basically guided myself). I'll likely retake it this or next year in order to pull a five.

This is the reason I shot for C's. That way I wouldn't be mad when I got one, and I'd be pleasantly surprised when I did better. Degrees and diplomas are all foot in the door type crap anyways.

For the record I was above a 3.0 while only applying myself to get C's so I think I did pretty well hehe. Once you're out in the working world, no one really gives a crap if you got a 4.0 anyways, at least I've never met anyone who really cared.

When we both apply for the same job and they see that I've gone to an Ivy League / higher end school and have internships because of it, who do you think will get the job?

Oh my bad, I should amend that to: only people who bow down to those that go to ivy league schools would care. Oh wait, and law firms, but everyone hates lawyers anyways

It's a piece of paper, plain and simple, but don't expect it to get you a free lunch everywhere you go, you might get disappointed. Credentials are only half the battle imho, I guarantee it comes down to the interview once your foot is in the door. If you can beat everyone else at that game, well then more power to you.

I was merely remarking on the somewhat unimportance of a HS 4.0 in the real world.

Not in my HS. Precalc was considered "advanced" as a junior. Alg 2/Trig was "advanced" as soph.

Yeah, I just remember our advanced track had you finishing 2 semesters of college calc at the end of your senior year.

I took Algebra II Soph year. Hopefully, if I can transfers schools senior year I'll be taking Calc BC.

The 4.0 is only important to the schools I'm trying to apply to.

I know it won't get me free lunches, but it sure as hell will give me an edge.
