Hmmm I'll have to check that out. I'm happy with Xcopy's quality, just wish it were a bit faster.

          DVD-R or DVD+R?

So what do you use that seems to work on different players? I use Xcopy, as for media I use DVD-R since it seems to agree with most of the players I have.

Lately I've been using DVD-R, but I have DVD+R too. It doesn't really matter to me because all the dvd players I have will play both without complaint.

i also only used -r for the longest time because my dvd player didnt like +r. but that dvd player was bought the first month(literally) dvd players where availible.

for about the last year and a half i have been using +R and havnt found one dvd player that it wont play in.

actually the best dvd player i have ran across that will play anything +/- R/ RW

is a 90$ emerson from walmart. has a dvd and tapeplayer in one, and plays ANYTHING i put in it.

if anyone is interested i will get the model number.

I gotta tell you, I tried that dvdshrink. I dont' know if I had the settings wrong or what but it took forever. As opposed to being faster it doubled the time! And it coastered one of the two movies I tried to back up. Eh well, sticking with my old program!
